Funnelled Hole 2012

Woods works with characteristic extremities of palette in this newly created composition. The blackness has a treacled effect at odds with the fresh and verdurous greens of young, lush landscape. There is despite the ‘new’, a distinct sense of menace as the darkness surrounds and leaches towards the central light. As Woods develops her work she retains a highly graphic almost cartoon draughtsmanship that lends her landscape an edgy sensibility. A limited edition print of 100, each individually numbered.
