The white Lisbon is traditionally the most popular Spring Onion for successional sowings & features long white stems & bright green tops.

Delicious when young & takes on a more pungent flavour as the bulbs swell. Easy to grow these seeds should be sown from March to August successionally every 3 weeks.

Sow thinly in either narrow or broad drills 12mm deep allowing 23cm between drills. Sow regularly throughout the season from late winter at 3 week intervals for best results.

These seeds prefer rich moist fertile soil in a sunny open situation. Keep well watered during spells of dry weather. Fruits can be stored for up to 6 months.

A dual purpose onion that resists bulbing up enabling it to be pulled for a longer period than regular varieties. With excellent overwintering qualities it can be sown either late August for late May pulling or in spring & summer for summer/autumn crops.

Spring onions will grow in any good fertile soil provided it is welt drained. Sow from late winter to late summer at 3 weekly intervals or for an early spring crop sow in late summer & overwinter.

Sow thinly 6mm deep in drills 15cm apart. No thinning is required & harvesting can usually start 6-8 weeks after sowing.

At harvest time it is twice as sweet as other varieties. Instead of the sweetness & flavour deteriorating as in other sweet normal varieties it has a rich sugary flavour & is easy to grow. To ensure maximum sweetness do not grow near ordinary varieties.

Sow mid spring. Requires a fertile soil in a sunny position. Germinate at 20-30C on the surface of a good free draining damp seed compost in 7.5cm pots. Apply a layer of compost or vermiculite 1cm deep.

Product Description

A unique Oriental Spinach with an upright habit producing dark green large pointed leaves multiple side shoots & long stems with pink tinged bases. Delicious chopped in stir fries added to salads or steamed.

Good downy mildew resistance for spring & autumn crop. Ideal for summer sowings due to its superb bolting resistance.

Sow March to August every 3 or 4 weeks. Sow thinly 1cm deep in broad drills 30cm apart. Sow regularly every 3 or 4 weeks for continuous supply of fresh leaves & tender stems.

Thin seedlings to 5-7cm apart to increase the yield as plants will make multiple side shoots.

Water well during dry periods & also to increase leaf production.
