This dovecote is manufactured from FSC approved Swedish Redwood. Swedish redwood is a popular timber from the pine family that gives a smooth clean finish & is ideal for making furniture. Characteristically the close grained sapwood is white to creamy yellow in it's natural state with the heartwood a pale yellowish brown to reddish brown in appearance. Partly painted in classic white & part treated with a rich golden brown water-based preservative in this case it has been given a warm depth of colour that makes the most of the timber revealing the grain whilst giving a lustrous sheen & protecting the wood from the elements. The stain used is harmless to wildlife & birds giving you complete peace of mind. Be assured that the timber used for this product is FSC certified & has been sourced from responsibly managed & sustainable forests making this an environmentally acceptable choice.
