HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural & healthy foods & sound agriculture which helps to regenerate & protect the countryside & wildlife.
Lovage is a hardy perennial bushy herb with leaves & stems similar to celery
- it is traditionally used to season soups & stews. The crushed seeds & chopped leaves can be added to omelettes but take note the seeds have the stronger flavour.

Sow from March to May thinly in a well-prepared seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow 13mm deep in drills 30cm apart. Transplant seedlings to 45cm apart & keep watered. Harvest from June to sharp frosts
- the plant dies down during winter.

Height to 2 metres.
