Sowing:
Sow October to March in a well-prepared soil in a sunny spot. Sow seeds 5cm deep in double rows allowing 23-30cm between plants & 60cm between each row.

Growing:
Support with stout canes & string.

Aftercare:
Pinch out the tips of the plants when in full flower to help the pods swell & to reduce infestation by Blackfly.

If you are of the opinion tomatoes have lost their flavour ' Gardener's Delight' is a must for you. It is a greenhouse or outdoor type packed with bite-size fruit ideal for salads & sandwiches & full of vitamins.

For greenhouse culture sow late winter to early spring at 1.5mm deep where germination usually takes 6-14 days at 24-27C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots & plant out into growbags pots etc when large enough at 45cm apart.

When approx. 20cm tall gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions & plant out 45cm apart with 75cm between rows. Keep in a warm sheltered sunny spot in moist fertile well drained soil & keep well watered.

Provide support & tie in regularly. Remove side shoots as they appear & restrict the plant to one main stem.

Before planting seed potatoes they need to be chitted. Chitting encourages the growth of the shoots on seed potatoes before planting & will produce heavier crops than would otherwise be obtained. Work back from the intended date for planting to decide when to start chitting.
