This sweet vibrant red kite suncatcher is mounted on to a 75cm long flexible stem that bobs & sways in the slightest breeze, if placed near a white or pale background it will also cast beautiful colourful projections as the sun catches it. & the benefit of laser cut acrylic, is it is also very visible in low light too, it transports the invisible short wave light to the very edges of the acrylic, making them look as if they're illuminating. Not just for the garden, the kite is also highly UV blacklight reactive, so could be used in a kids sensory room to add colourful dramatic effects. How does it work? Made from a special fluorescent acrylic with a laser cut edge, they collect short wave light that we can't see, & transfers the light into a visible long wave light along the laser cut edge, sometimes called " Edge Glow" or " Lit Edge" technology. How does they differ? They AREN'T ' Photoluminescent' (Glow in the dark), they don't need to charge, & they don't need to be in pitch black to see the effect, in fact they look best at dusk & dawn, low light, or cloudy weather. They AREN'T ' Solar Powered', the sun doesn't need to charge these, there are no batteries, no panels, & no wiring, neither do they have to placed in a sunny south facing location to work.
