These compact TrueLite torches prove conclusively that bigger is not necessarily better. The clever people at True Utility, we checked they really are clever, have managed to make small torches big. It’s a bit like ‘Tardis Theory’ but backwards. You see what they’ve done here is to develop a special lens that sits directly on top of the light source, negating the need for a reflector. This means that they don’t need to be the size of a truncheon and yet can maintain incredible brightness. The TrueLite. 7 is powered by just one AAA battery and yet produces 0.7W and 50+ lumens, whilst the TrueLite. 5 has just 4 weeny Lithium button cell batteries to produce 0.5W and 30+ lumens. The body is made from Aircraft grade anodised aluminium, is shockproof, water
resistant and has a tremendous build quality, and the ergonomically designed non-slip bodies incorporate water resistant rubberised ‘O’ rings to protect all joints. The. 7 has a tactile On/Off button on its base, a belt clip, and two brightness modes (Power Save and Full Beam) and is waterproof down to 5 metres.
