Thread Wizard, the world's safest, fastest bolt cleaner. The Thread wizard is an award winning bolt cleaning tool designed by master mechanic & industry veteran, Gary Taylor. Housed in a highly durable handle which is specially shaped to be handheld or clamped in a vice, a wire wheel of the highest quality protrudes into size specific holes surrounding the wheel. The replacement cost of bolts can add up after time. Whether you work in a mechanics shop, or you perform regular maintenance & repairs on your vehicles at home, this tool will pay for itself. When a bolt is turned through the Thread Wizard with hand or power tools appropriate for the bolt, the wire wheel removes all grime, dirt, surface rust & fouling, without the safety issues or hassle of wire brushes, solvents or wire wheel bench grinders. INSTRUCTIONS Insert fastener into the correctly sized hole. Turn fastener by hand or with a electric drill. If using with a drill, it is recommended to mount the tool in a bench vise. ...

Pure tungsten electrodes (AWS classification EWP) contain 99.50 percent tungsten, have the highest consumption rate of all electrodes, & typically are less expensive than their alloyed counterparts. These electrodes form a clean, balled tip when heated & provide great arc stability for AC welding with a balanced wave. Pure tungsten also provides good arc stability for AC sine wave welding, especially on aluminum & magnesium. It is not typically used for DC welding because it does not provide the strong arc starts associated with thoriated or ceriated electrodes. ...

Thoriated tungsten electrodes (AWS classification EWTh-2) contain a minimum of 97.30 percent tungsten & 1.70 to 2.20 percent thorium & are called 2 percent thoriated. They are the most commonly used electrodes today & are preferred for their longevity & ease of use. Thorium increases the electron emission qualities of the electrode, which improves arc starts & allows for a higher current-carrying capacity. This electrode operates far below its melting temperature, which results in a considerably lower rate of consumption & eliminates arc wandering for greater stability. Compared with other electrodes, thoriated electrodes deposit less tungsten into the weld puddle, so they cause less weld contamination. These electrodes are used mainly for specialty AC welding (such as thin-gauge aluminum & material less than 0.060 inch) & DC welding, either electrode negative or straight polarity, on carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel, & titanium. During manufacturing, thorium is evenly dispersed throughout the electrode, which helps the tungsten maintain its sharpened edge—the ideal electrode shape for welding thin steel—after grinding. ...

TIG Welding Basics DVD

TIG welding has been long recognized as the premiere welding process, which can make beautiful, strong welds on nearly any metal. In this easy-to-follow program, Ron Covell covers the basic processes used for TIG welding, covering proper machine setup, joint preparation, electrode selection and preparation, torch technique, and perhaps most importantly, what to check for when things go wrong! Ron's thoughtful description of the welding process, coupled with the close-up photography that brings the action into clear view makes the seemingly difficult process of TIG welding easy to understand.
