Product Description

The central characters in this book are the little river Bourne, a Hampshire chalkstream, & Harry Plunket Greene's favourite dry fly, the Iron Blue. Although the narrative ranges from German streams to the loughs of Irel&, Harry always comes back to his first love, the crystal clear stream by his cottage in the village of Hurstbourne Priors in the Test Valley & its beautiful trout. Where The Bright Waters Meet immortalises this lovely place, where wild brown still rise today in spite of all that the 20th Century has thrown at them. Harry Plunkett Greene tapped deep in to the bright stream of memory, with one of the best descriptions of a fight with a chalk stream fish ever written. Hardcover 224 pages
