Formed in Los Angeles in 2001, the Adam Levine fronted band have released five studio albums, including their debut Songs About Jane & this September’s V, plus a compilation, The B-Side Collection, in 2007.

While Toliver seemed to burst onto the scene via the UK with an arresting performance on " Later With Jools Holland", & a declaration from Adele as her "new favourite artist, his story begins many years ago in Florida. It was there he began his training in classical violinist at the age of 10, & would later enroll in music school. Frustrated with academia however, & keen to throw him-self into the real world of music making. Toliver took a leap of faith & traveled to New York City. Through busking in subways & working as a freelance musician, he was noticed by & quickly made friends with fellow artists. Soon enough he found himself playing live & on records for the likes of Holly Miranda, Grizzly Bear, & Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson.

Not content to sit still, he would again throw caution to the wind & move to London, where after winning over that city's musical landscape in similar fashion, he signed to Bella Union & released his well-received debut EP Butterflies Are Not Free. Following world wide tours in support of the EP, he would begin work on the mixtape Studying For My Ph. D, a cornucopia of music, speech, loops, & news reports from the London Riots. Toliver described the project as my way to apply my skills as arranger & beat maker." Through the mixtape he would also delve in to some of the themes & ideas that would eventually influence his full-length debut Land of Can Aan, a work brimming with his own unique R&B & Classical music influences. "I take my own route, he says of his adventurous life to date. All in all, Land of Can Aan is where R&B meets Classical Music.

As the lead guitarist for Jethro Tull, Martin Barre has been joined at the hip to Ian Anderson since 1969, when he replaced Mick Abrahams in the group’s lineup. His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record & in concert amid the beauty of Anderson’s melodies & the complexity of his lyrics, & played no small part in helping the veteran band (some would say “dinosaur”) win the 1988 Grammy for Best Hard Rock Album for Crest of a Knave. Anderson himself has been"ed as saying, “ Without Martin Barre, Jethro Tull could not exist.”

Barre’s solo work was confined to his home studio until he assembled a band to play some charity gigs in the early 1990s. Since then, he has recorded a pair of albums that allow him to stretch out in directions that Tull normally doesn’t permit, & to put his instrument into new sounds, genres, & musical contexts.
