Growing up in houses just two minutes away from each other in Swords, a working class town near Dublin airport, Steve & Mark met aged eight, when they were the only boys in the school choir. Skip forward six years & they recruited Vinny, also situated a stones throw away & together set about forming the first of myriad bands. The line-up for Kodaline was recently completed by the addition of bassist Jason Bol&. The band’s name, incidentally, means absolutely nothing for the moment they wanted something they could take ownership of.

Teaching each other the principles of songcraft, the music they came up with some of which can be found on their self titled EP isn’t wan or introspective or self-serving. Instead, it’s bold, epic & stirring. Currently maintaining an air of understated mystery, Kodaline are soon set to unveil themselves to the world with these first four tracks recorded with Steve Harris (producer for Dave Matthews b&, mixer for U2).

Currently planning another EP, live dates & further down the line a debut album Kodaline are ones to keep an eye out for.

An original member of New York’s new-school pioneers the Ultramagnetic MCs, Kool Keith is best known as a solo rapper. His signature style is stream-of-consciousness lyrical flow & complex vocals, two skills that earn him a perennial nod from the underground hip-hop community.

After the Ultramagnetic MC’s broke up in 1994, he moved to California & released his debut solo recording “ Big Willie Smith” before hooking up with Kutmaster Kurt to record the cult Dr. Octagon album on Mo’ Wax.

Kool Keith has since worked with Dan the Automator, Faith No More, Tim Dog, Princess Superstar, ODB, Prince Paul & The Prodigy.

Once in a while, a band comes along that doesn't just ignore the rule book, but rewrites it. Since forming in the late 90's, Kosheen have proved that success doesn't have to come on someone else's terms.

Fusing the plaintive, potent vocals of singer Sian Evans with the darkly intimate electronica of Darren Decoder & Markee Substance, Kosheen create songs where the sounds tell the story as much as the lyrics while the boundaries of genres are blurred & challenged.
