In honour of what would have been Ian Dury’s 70th Birthday, the British Music Experience is thrilled to announce that it will celebrate Dury’s legacy with a special panel discussion on 25 November to launch the book Hallo Sausages: The Lyrics of Ian Dury. Collated by his daughter Jemima, Hallo Sausages not only contains well know lyrics, but hidden gems & written insights to one of the UK’s finest rock poets.

Joining Jemima for the discussion is Chaz Jankel, veteran member of The Blockheads & Phil Jupitus; Dury journalist, fan & honorary band member.

Some 26 years since their final show in Dublin in May ’86, The Boomtown Rats – Bob Geldof on vocals, Pete Briquette on bass, Simon Crowe on drums & Garry Roberts on guitar
- will tour the UK in the autumn.

Boomtown Rats will release a new hits collection on August 5th ’13. Entitled ‘ Back To Boomtown: Classic Rats’ Hits’ it will feature all of the band’s celebrated hits including ‘ Lookin After No 1’, ‘ Like Clockwork’, ‘ She’s So Modern’, ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ & ‘ Rat Trap’ – songs with an immediacy & a message that is as pertinent today as it was when they were written
