Watched by nearly 17million viewers and in front of a 20, 000 strong crowd at Buckingham Palace, Alfie performed O Sole Mio / Its Now or Never and duetted with the wonderful Soprano Renee Fleming performing Somewhere on the palace balcony. The latter trended all over the UK on twitter.
Alfie has also teamed up with Gary Barlow to appear on his Sing album. Sing is a special commemorative Jubilee album celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee featuring musicians from across the Commonwealth including Military Wives Choir, Hayley Westenra and Laura Wright and is at Number 1.
'The Nation's Tenor' Alfie Boe is one of 2011's huge success stories; not only did he sell out his 23 date UK tour of Britain's finest concert halls, he sold approaching 750, 000 copies of his albums Bring Him Home and Alfie, whilst also fitting in a critically acclaimed West End run as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. 2012 looks set to be another massive year for Alfie. He recently signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster, with the autobiography My Story released in late August, recounting Alfie's amazing story. A live DVD of his Bring Him Home tour which won over fans and critics alike was also released earlier this year. And to end the Alfie has announced a full US tour, which is already selling-out venues.
