When buying shoes you need to add the following room for growth: Sandals/walking shoes 10-15 mm. Ankle boots/boots 15-20 mm. Size = inside length. Size 23 = 152 mm, Size 24 = 158 mm, Size 25 = 163 mm, Size 26 = 168 mm, Size 27 = 175 mm, Size 28 = 183 mm, Size 29 = 188 mm, Size 30 = 197 mm. How to measure children&8217;s feet: Place the short edge of a piece of A4 paper against a wall. Then position the child&8217;s foot on the sheet of paper with their heel against the wall. For a more accurate measurement, position both feet side by side so the child&8217;s weight is evenly distributed. If possible don&8217;t let the child lean against the wall or hold onto anything. Then make a mark where the longest part of the foot is (usually the big toe) & measure the distance between this mark & the edge of the sheet of paper using a ruler. Did you know that children&8217;s feet grow at the following rate: For ages 1 to 2: approx. 20 mm/year, ages 2 to 3: approx. 15 mm/year, ages 3 to 11: approx. 10 mm/year
