One Board to rule them all. If you’re a more experienced rider & you’re looking for one board that’s going to conquer the whole mountain, then the 2021 Ye S Standard might be a perfect choice. As the best-selling model in the Yes range, the Standard has earned itself an enviable reputation as being one of the top boards in its category. Built around a state of the art directional twin chassis, it combines a versatile Cam Rock with Yes innovative Mid Bite sidecut. This game-changing combination creates a board that is agile & stable but which still carves like it’s on rails & floats like a dream. Match this with the high-end construction, & you have a board that delivers stunning performance no matter what or where you ride. Take just one run on this award-winning snowboard, & you’ll very quickly understand why it’s become almost the default board for riders who want one board to rule it all. Rider Style: experienced All Terrain Riders The Standard is aimed at intermediate through to expert riders who are looking for a responsive, high-performance board that delivers stunning performance no matter what or where you ride. Shape Overview: Directional Twin The Standards advanced directional twin shape is key to its stunning all-terrain performance. Heading this up is the unique blunt nose profile. Taking its inspiration from the highly acclaimed Optimistic, this state of the art design gives unrivalled levels of lift & float, without feeling long & unwieldy. To provide the Standard with its responsive & stable underfoot feel, it utilises Yes’s advanced Mid Bite edge profile. This innovative design pulls in the edges between the insert packs, cheating the board into riding like it has a narrower waist. This unique design works so well that it allows the designers to increase the width of the board under the feet, improving float in pow while also giving a more stable platform for popping off jumps & kickers. For this season the Standard now features the new Slamback Stance, this adds an extra set of inserts allowing you to set back the stance for those bottomless powder days. Profile: Cam Rock The Standards 3-4-3 Cam Rock profile combines mid-rise rocker at the tip & tail with a more pronounced camber through the middle of the board. This innovative profile produces hook free zones at the tips while still allowing the contact points to power-up turn initiation & exit. That little bit of rocker also works perfectly with the nose shape to deliver unrivalled levels of lift & float in deeper snow. By adding a more pronounced camber between the feet, the unique Mid Bite edge profile engages more securely creating a more responsive & dynamic feel through the turn. Construction As you would expect for such a high-performance board, the Standard’s construction utilises some of the most advanced technology available. Heading this up is the state of the art wood core. Combining durable poplar with lightweight paulownia & bamboo stringers running through the centre, the Standard delivers a powerful & responsive flex through the length, while cutting weight to the absolute minimum. To this, Yes then add structural layers formed from a torsionally stiff tri-ax weave glass fibre. This beefs up the torsional flex & ensures that no matter how hard or how fast you ride, you just know that the Standard won’t let you down. Base: Sintered As the Standard is all about performance, Yes step up the base to a True Sintered material. True Sintered is harder & more expensive than extruded, & it can be faster for those that ride aggressively fast.
