Over the years the Assassin has earned itself a reputation as being one of the very best all-terrain boards on the market. Designed under the watchful eye of the legendary Wollie Nyvelt, Salomon's engineers have combined technology from both powder & freestyle boards to create a totally mind blowing snowboard that has the performance to put it down across all types of riding. If you're a good intermediate & above, this board is going to blow you away.
To deliver such great performance across such a diverse range of riding styles, Salomon has totally pushed the boat out when it comes to design & construction. Heading this up is the advanced twin shape. This gives a really balanced ride increasing board feel & control, but thanks to its extended contact points at the tips, it does this without compromising float, as these channel snow down rather than over the contact points, giving more lift at the nose.
Now what really steps up the Assassins all terrain performance is its state-of-the-art Rock Out camber & equalizer Rad side cut. This innovative profile blends rocker in the nose & tail which then rises into a cambered flat section under the feet giving the board all the characteristics that you need for great all terrain performance. Now add the state of the art equaliser Rad side-cut, which combines straight edges & various radiuses, & you get a board that carves like its on rails, floats like a powder board & spins like a jibstick, & what's not to like about that.
Internally Salomon has utilised its high-end Aspen SLCT wood core. This hand selected FSC approved core features the eco-Booster profiling, which blends thick & thin core zones with bamboo rods in the nose & tail to deliver a responsive & poppy ride that really gives you the control to push to the max. Now add to this the complex structural layers which combine medium density Bi-Ax glass with bamboo sheet & Basalt stringers & what you get is a board that delivers truly remarkable performance.
Finally add into the mix the Royal Cork rails to dampen out the ride & the superfast high-end gallium infused electro base & what you have is a very special snowboard indeed.
