It’s this ability to perform in every type of terrain, & every style of riding that makes the Mechanic the perfect choice for anyone who wants one board that will deliver whatever & wherever they ride. Rider Style Beginners through to more experienced riders who are looking for an easy going & playful board that can ride any type of terrain. Shape Overview The Mechanic is built around an all-new balanced twin chassis that has been designed to put the rider in control, so no matter whether you’re playing in the park or blasting groomers you’ll never feel like the board has a mind of its own. Now one of the key reasons the Mechanic rides so well for what is an entry price board is down to the advanced Quick Rip sidecut profile. This state of art technology steps up edge control & response by integrating a tight sidecut between the feet with a longer sidecut at the tip & tail. These two different radii are joined together with a step. At slower speeds only the tighter part of the sidecut between the feet engages, delivering a manoeuvrable ride, while at higher speeds, both the tip & tail radii engage, with those steps adding additional traction points on the sidecut increasing both stability & edge hold. Profile To deliver that perfect balance between performance, versatility & easy-going ride, Rome fit the Mechanic with their Contact Rocker Camber profile. This places a flat camber in the mid-section of the board with rocker in front of each binding through to the nose & tail kick, creating a playful hook free confidence inspiring ride while delivering smooth turns & effortless float in powder. Internals Heading up the Mechanics quality build is the responsive TTT Core Matrix. This durable poplar wood core gives the perfect combination of strength & flex & is the ideal foundation for the board's versatile ride. To this, Rome then adds its unique Hot Rod technology. In the case of the Mechanic, it’s the Glass Single Barrel version. This innovative technology places glass fibre tubes running from the insert packs out to the tip & tail. Inside these tubes are free floating glass fibre rods anchored under the bindings. These add pop & power to the tip & tail of the board without compromising the playful freestyle inspired torsional flex. This softer & more predictable torsional flex is down to the playful Straight Biax laminates, underpinning the Mechanics easier going everyday ride.
