Taking its graphic inspiration from legendary 90’s pro -rider Babs Charlet’s pro model, this stunning freeride board is easily one of the coolest snowboards of the year. Aimed at experienced riders who are looking for a compact high performance freeride board, it’s combination of advanced design & high-end construction deliver a genuinely stunning board that not only looks great but rides great. Built around a fully directional shape, the Babs features Nideckers advanced nose & tail profile; these create a shorter overall length without compromising float & edge hold. This means that you keep all the freeride response & control, but you also get a more agile board. Match that with the positive Camber profile & carbon/ Kevlar loaded construction & you get a stunning snowboard that loves to be ridden hard, but one which you can still mess around on when you just want to have a playful day with your mates. Shape Overview The Babs utilises an all new state of the art directional freeride shape which is fine-tuned with a combination of Round Square nose & Round Flat tail. The Round Square nose combines a widerprofile with a smoother transition to refine the float for a shorter, more compact shape. The Round Flat tail again shortens the board but more importantly creates a more stable back which you can lean on in the final part of the turn. Combine this with the 10mm setback, & you have all the ingredients in place for a stunning freeride board. Profile To ensure that the Babs delivers stunning performance across the whole mountain, Nidecker utilises their traditional Positive Camber profile. This full-length camber provides extra grip & response while increasing stability & is perfect for riders who are looking for that balance of carving performance & all-terrain charging. For the Babs, Nidecker modifies the camber profile slightly, by adding 8 to 10 cm of flat transition at the contact points, this creates a more fluid edge to edge transfer & gives the board a more predictable overall feel. Construction Internally the Babs utilises a mix of high-quality materials & traditional snowboard manufacturing to deliver it’s unique easy going yet responsive & dynamic ride. Heading this up is the high-quality Master core. Combining poplar for durability, beech for pop & power & paulownia for weight saving, it delivers the perfect foundation for the Babs’s high performance. This is then matched to Nidecker’s exclusive Dual Plus structural layers. This 90° biaxial fibreglass is designed to offer a forgiving ride & predictable torsional flex. However, with the addition of carbon reinforcing & Kevlar dampening, Nidecker power up the Bab’s delivering a uniquely high performing board that doesn’t take that much effort to ride. Finishing off the Babs’s stunning construction is the Absorbanid top sheet. This advanced top sheet material is designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This ensures that you can still have a responsive, dynamic board which always give you a smooth & fatigue free ride. Base Produced with carbon nanoparticles, the N-9000 has a very dense molecular structure, which makes it Nideckers fastest, most durable base material.
