Shape Overview The Carbon Flagship features an all-new fully directional shape which utilises an innovative blunt diamond nose & tail profile. This state of the art shape tricks the board into thinking it has a longer nose, which helps channel the flow of snow under the front, increasing both float & lift. However, as the nose length is still relatively short, the new Flagship has a surprisingly low swing weight, giving the rider a more controllable & balanced overall ride. Now as the new Flagship is all about performance, Jones fit it with their innovative Traction Tech 3.0 sidecut profile. This adds small bumps along the length of the sidecut, creating additional traction points at the edges. These deliver a more stable & secure ride without the unpredictability of other manipulated sidecuts. Profile Directional Rocker: The new Carbon Flagship’s freeride specific profile combines an extended rocker zone at the nose with a set-back camber between the inserts & a shorter rocker at the tail. This profile allows the board to float effortlessly in deep snow while still delivering a powerful & dynamic ride on hardpack terrain. The shorter rocker at the tail when combined with the stiffer flex helps create a more responsive & stable feel at the back of the board while increasing power out the back of the turn.3D Contour Base 3.0 One of the key features that set the new Flagship apart from other freeride boards is the innovative 3D Contour Base profile. This unique design adds an even balance of 7mm spoon at both the nose & tail running from the start of the board's rocker zone. Although this bevel doesn’t look much to the naked eye, it transforms the way the board rides. Turn initiation becomes smoother & more fluid while float at the nose increases, thanks to the way the profile funnels the snow down & under the nose. Construction Internally the Carbon Flagship steps up the performance a notch with the addition of the responsive Power Core. Constructed from a combination of durable poplar, lightweight paulownia & powerful bamboo it delivers the perfect balance of high performance, durability & light weight. However, what really powers up this board is the addition of the Textreme Carbon structural layers. These replace the standard Flagships Flax/ Glass layers & help deliver the truly stunning ride that has made this board such a powerhouse. This state of the art carbon fabric manufactured by Oxeon AB utilises an advanced Spread Tow configuration which not only increases strength & power but also reduces weight over standard carbon composites. This unique construction delivers a genuinely stunning snowboard that is not only stable & powerful but one which has the reactions to get you through even the most extreme terrain. Base Proven on the world cup circuit, the complex Sintered Ultra Base is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-Pe) modified with special Fluoro & Paraffin based additives. This delivers increased glide & extra durability. ULTRA base is harder & faster than any other sintered base.
