The V-Shape V6 was a ski that surprised us on testing, way exceeding our expectation. It had no issue dealing with the firmer & rougher snow, happily putting down clean controlled turns & encouraging speed. On softer snow the balanced handling made terrain changes easy. The construction ensures it isn't heavy, but also that it still feels super comfortable; the e RA 3.0 & shape make turning effortless, & the 78mm waist is the perfect all-round dimension for hard snow with some softer bits thrown in. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Lots of time on pistes whatever condition they're in, especially fast, cruisy red runs, & some exploring off the sides looking for new challenges & terrain. It has surprising amounts of grip & encourages the skier to hold the carve a bit longer, push a bit faster & to progress. This applies especially on groomed snow &, thanks to how stable it feels, also on unpisted terrain where the always predictable handling will boost confidence. Skier Type Good intermediates who are learning how to control skis at all speeds & in various conditions, as well as lighter or less aggressive advanced skiers who want an all rounder. Overview Shape The V6 has so much shape they even include it in the name. This ski is seriously curvey with a big wide nose that works with the rocker to initiate turns effortlesly. The waist is 78mm, an ideal size so that piste response is not affected yet with enough width to feel stable in rougher & softer snow for some off piste exploring. Rocker Allride Rocker uses tip rocker & camber underfoot; perfect for skiers who feel comfortable on any slopes. It enables superior steering & increases floatation. The camber ensures grip & precision on hard snow. Core A vertically laminated wood core has a composite sock around it. This combination results in good vibration control, no excess weight & a smooth ride that suits ambitious skiers who don't want all out power. Construction Superlite Power Sidewall Jacket Construction is a mouthful, but it gives a lot of clues to what it does & how it's made. A cap construction enhances durability & sits on top of ABS Sidewalls which provide precise energy transmission. As well as the wood composite core, a layer of Graphene is used to keep the ski light but also increase the strength. Key Featurese RA 3.0e RA 3.0 is a combination of technologies, shape & geometry using a targeted rocker at the tip with low rise, a progressive radius & vibration absorbing fibres. The rocker improves steering & enhances soft snow versatility. The progressive radius at the tip means that even though there is rocker, less angulation is required to get full edge contact, resulting in better grip. Intellifibers in the tip dampen vibrations for a smoother ride. Graphene Graphene is the thinnest & lightest element ever discovered by mankind. It is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond & 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom. By using it in the construction Head can reduce weight & increase strength of the ski.e B tester’s comments: Steve (Buying Team) The V6 has surprising amounts of grip, the kind you expect on more expensive skis, but it also the handling to make skiing easier. It's a joy to cruise on & I would happily have stayed on this all day.
