The CT 3.0 is based on Candide’s 5.0, the ski he uses in his edits, just this version has more practical
Dimensions. The same CT Signature Flex, Stance & Shape are present, meaning maximum versatility & playfulness. Similarly, the paulownia & poplar core keeps the weight down but ensures the ski has plenty of pop. It's no-holds-barred skiing with the new CT 3.0 anything is possible: stomp cliffs, huck windlips, ski powder or just cruise the mountain having fun. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type It’s focused on softer snow but it is capable anywhere if you have a freestyle mindset. The width & rocker ensure the float and control for when powder is in town, the construction provides the stability for rougher snow & the CT Signature design delivers the handling & versatility. The flex allows the ski to blast through crud & stomp landings, without sacrificing the ability to butter & smear. Skier Type Advanced & expert freeskiers who want a fun but stable ski for using the whole mountain as a playground. The flex allows the ski to blast through crud & stomp landings, without sacrificing the ability to butter & smear. Overview Shape 112mm in the waist is big enough to deal with deep days, & the 21m (183cm) radius provides stability for when the snow isn’t so smooth. It’s a directional twin meaning it’s built to charge as well as ski switch, with the tail only slightly narrower than the tip. There’s more tip & tail rocker on the 3.0 version, compared to the 2.0, and this boosts the manoeuvrability. The elliptic Radius Sidecut nicely balances the need to carve turns by using a shorter radius in the tip & tail, with a longer radius creating a straighter section underfoot for the stability required in rougher snow. Rocker Tip & Tail Rocker uses a low camber underfoot. The rocker at the tip & tail improves manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation & completion. The low camber ensures pivoting is easy but that there is response & grip too. Core The wood core use a mix of lightweight but stable paulownia & poplar that adds energy & pop, resulting in a light but durable & playful ski. A Titanal / Rubber Stomp Pad is placed underfoot for additional strength, as well as protecting the wood core against heavy duty impact on rails, the Titanal and rubber adds stability & vibration. Construction Full Strength Sidewalls place strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge & the topsheet. This provides the best possible edge hold & stability when the ski is engaged in a turn, as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact & outside damage. On top of this is an Anti-Chip Micro-Cap, a hybrid of a full strength, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With Micro-Cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold & torsional stability, while the ski’s topsheet wraps around & meets the sidewall protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping. Key Features CT Signature Shape, Flex & Stance Designed by the man himself, Candide Thovex, & the very same skis that he rides straight out of the wrapper. Based on the CT 5.0, the shape is retro-fitted to the narrower models in the range. SIGNATURe SHAPe: Moderately tapered tips & tails are complemented by an elliptical Radius sidecut for efficient, precise handling & carving. A combination of generous rocker & modest camber results in a wonderfully playful character, injecting new energy into an otherwise routine day on the mountain. SIGNATURe FLe X: Candide is never not tinkering, tweaking, learning, improving. He’s adamant that bigger rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips & tails to help settle the skis & power through variable snow. in addition, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when skiers touch down after going airborne. Just add a touch more flex under foot & it allows the skis to load up & POP on request. Welcome to the Candide Thovex Signature Flex. SIGNATURe STANCe: The narrowest spot on the ski is the centre of the radius, & it happens to be the most intuitive place from which to initiate pivoting of the funkfreaky-freestyle variety. Mounting here also works wonders for carving & popping off the back & front of your skis.XL 2.5mm edges Thicker edges mean increased durability & impact resistance, crucial for a ski that is built to test the rule book. elliptic Radius Sidecutelliptical Radius Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot & shorter radii in the tip & tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster & easier, while a shorter radius in the tip & tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles & mounting positions.e B tester’s comments: Mark (Trainer) I'm a big fan of the CT series, I love the poppy feel & energy of the 3.0. They’re wide but the lightness helps makes them super playful & floaty to mess around on.
