Dimensions are slightly increased from the previous version. The result is increased pop & better stability. It's no holds barred skiing with the new CT 3.0 anything is possible: stomp cliffs, huck windlips, ski powder or just cruising the mountain having fun. Tester’s comments: This was such a late addition to the Faction line up no skiable demos were ready for testing. However, we know it’s going to be a huge success based on the materials, the shape & the performance of the CT 5.0.

Faction CT 3.0 Skis 2021

The CT 3.0 is based on Candide’s 5.0, the ski he uses in his edits,  just this version has more practical dimensions. The same CT Signature Flex, Stance and Shape are present, meaning maximum versatility and playfulness. Similarly,  the paulownia and poplar core keeps the weight down but ensures the ski has plenty of pop. It's no-holds-barred skiing with the new CT 3.0 anything is possible: stomp cliffs,  huck windlips, ski powder or just cruise the mountain having fun. Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It’s focused on softer snow but it is capable anywhere if you have a freestyle mindset. The width and rocker ensure the float and control for when powder is in town,  the construction provides the stability for rougher snow and the CT Signature design
delivers the handling and versatility. The flex allows the ski to blast through crud and stomp landings, without sacrificing the ability to butter and smear.Skier TypeAdvanced and expert freeskiers who want a fun but stable ski for using the whole mountain as a playground. The flex allows the ski to blast through crud and stomp landings, without sacrificing the ability to butter and smear.OverviewShape112mm in the waist is big enough to deal with deep days, and the 21m (183cm) radius provides stability for when the snow isn’t so smooth. It’s a directional twin meaning it’s built to charge as well as ski switch, with the tail only slightly narrower than the tip. There’s more tip and tail rocker on the 3.0 version,  compared to the 2.0,  and this boosts the
manoeuvrability. The elliptic Radius Sidecut nicely balances the need to carve turns by using a shorter radius in the tip and tail, with a longer radius creating a straighter section underfoot for the stability required in rougher snow. RockerTip and Tail Rocker uses a low camber underfoot. The rocker at the tip and tail improves manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation and completion. The low camber ensures pivoting is easy but that there is response and grip too. CoreThe wood core use a mix of lightweight but stable paulownia and poplar that adds energy and pop, resulting in a light but durable and playful ski. A Titanal / Rubber Stomp Pad is placed underfoot for additional strength, as well as protecting the wood core against heavy duty impact on rails, the Titanal and
rubber adds stability and vibration.ConstructionFull Strength Sidewalls place strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. This provides the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn,  as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage. On top of this is an Anti-Chip Micro-Cap, a hybrid of a full strength, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With Micro-Cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability,  while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.Key FeaturesCT Signature Shape, Flex and StanceDesigned by
the man himself, Candide Thovex, and the very same skis that he rides straight out of the wrapper. Based on the CT 5.0, the shape is retro-fitted to the narrower models in the range. SIGNATURe SHAPe: Moderately tapered tips and tails are complemented by an elliptical Radius sidecut for efficient, precise handling and carving. A combination of generous rocker and modest camber results in a wonderfully playful character, injecting new energy into an otherwise routine day on the mountain.  SIGNATURe FLeX: Candide is never not tinkering, tweaking, learning, improving. He’s adamant that bigger rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips and tails to help settle the skis and power through variable snow. Additionally, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when
skiers touch down after going airborne. Just add a touch more flex under foot and it allows the skis to load up and POP on request. Welcome to the Candide Thovex Signature Flex. SIGNATURe STANCe: The narrowest spot on the ski is the centre of the radius, and it happens to be the most intuitive place from which to initiate pivoting of the funkfreaky-freestyle variety. Mounting here also works wonders for carving and popping off the back and front of your skis.XL 2.5mm edgesThicker edges mean increased durability and impact resistance, crucial for a ski that is built to test the rule book. elliptic Radius Sidecutelliptical Radius Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and
easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles and mounting positions.eB tester’s comments: Mark (Trainer) I'm a big fan of the CT series, I love the poppy feel and energy of the 3.0.
