DMM set out to design the ultimate all-round alpine tool, & they succeeded with the Vertex Hammer ice axe. The strong yet light aluminium shaft has a straight lower section, making it easy to plunge into deep snow. An optimised curve on the upper section provides clearance over ice bulges. The hot forged head allows for interchangeable pick, adze, & hammer. The Vertex comes supplied with a high-strength steel alloy Ice pick for bomber placements. Its compact hammer is ideal for driving in pitons & adds weight for a balanced swing. You can position the sliding finger rest anywhere on the shaft for comfort & support, whatever the terrain. The Vertex Hammer pairs perfectly with DMM's Vertex Adze ice axe.
