DMM's Cortex Hammer is a revolutionary ice axe for technical mixed, ice & dry tooling routes. Milled from a single piece of aluminium, the Cortex is light & robust. The offset over-moulded handle is clippable for anchoring & accommodates cord for leash attachment. The CNC exoskeleton makes the Cortex a durable tool. As there are no rivets or bolts to come loose, the Cortex will take years of heavy usage. The I-Beam design gives an exceptional weight distribution & swing, with or without the included pick weights. A modular head system increases the Cortex Hammer's versatility. The axe comes with DMM's Ice Tech pick, a Micro hammer, & pick weights. The Ice Tech pick tapers 3.9mm at the head to 3mm at the tip. Chicken head spikes along the top increase the pick's bite & stability when used during stein pulls or inverted.
