The same construction, shape & tech that has won awards year after year, the CT 2.0, designed with Candide, is the all-mountain freestyle-blueprint for fun & now X Mlle brings brand new lengths & an alternate topsheet design. 102mm underfoot, a true twin symmetrical shape & playful flex: this ski pops in the park, carves on the piste & floats in the fresh stuff. The wood core mixes poplar & beech. Poplar brings lightness, durability & pop, as well as having great vibration absorption capabilities. The beech adds stiffness & rebound, it’s a combination that keeps the weight down whilst ensuring the ski is snappy between turns & still soft enough to butter all over the mountain. A Carbon Stomp Pad increases strength underfoot & increases stability. Full Strength Sidewalls boost protection for the core & improve edge hold on firmer snow. An Anti-Chip Micro-Cap sits on top of the sidewalls adds durability. Wherever you are, the CT 2.0 X turns the whole mountain into your playground. ...

The new CT 2.0X carries on the tradition of being a high-performance all-terrain freestyle ski that feels playful & fun but has the stability to ski smoothly in any condition. This X version acknowledges that not everyone will want the same graphic so it comes with all tech you expect, just with a different look & extra sizes, no change in performance. The CT Signature design dials in the flex, shape & stance exactly how Candide envisages them, creating a ski that will pivot, carve, slash, butter, smear & pop anywhere on the mountain. Our Freestyle Ski of the Year. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type You can take the CT 2.0 pretty much anywhere, from park to powder with pistes & all mountain thrown in. It’ll carve shapes on firm snow even at high-speed,  but do remember it’s a wide ski with rocker – features that make it at very comfortable in fresh snow. The shape is well suited to riding all-terrain & the playful performance encourages you to see the mountain like Candide, looking for side hits & alternative routes. Skier Type Aimed at advanced & expert all terrain freestyle skiers.  But as it’s not too tricky to ski,  good intermediates,  who are progressing well,  could be looking at it too. The park doesn’t need to be top of the list & freestyle skills don’t have to be pro-level, though it will obviously handle that with ease. It’s as much about having the mindset to pop lips, butter rollers & whip effortlessly between turns, all over the mountain. Overview Shape This 20/21 version has a slightly altered

Dimensions with a few mm off the tip & tail width, creating a slightly longer radius & improvements in stability.  It’s a directional twin meaning it’s built to charge as well as ski switch, with the tail only slightly narrower than the tip. 102mm in the waist is the sweetspot for an all-condition freestyle ski. It’s wider than average park skis but still nimble,  and narrower than powder models whilst retaining plenty of float that wider models offer. The elliptic Radius Sidecut nicely balances the need to carve turns by using a shorter radius in the tip & tail with a longer radius creating a straighter section underfoot for the stability required in rougher snow.  Rocker Tip & Tail  Rocker uses traditional camber underfoot for response & good edge grip,  with rocker at the tip & tail to improve manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation & completion.  Core Full wood core blends harder beech wood & lighter poplar to create a lively, durable & relatively light core. Ideal for a ski that wants to feel poppy and responsive while remaining tough. A Titanal / Rubber Stomp Pad is placed underfoot for additional strength, as well as protecting the wood core against heavy duty impact on rails, the  Titanal and rubber adds stability & vibration. Construction Full Strength Sidewalls place strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge & the topsheet. This provides the best possible edge hold & stability when the ski is engaged in a turn,  as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact & outside damage.  On top of this is an  Anti-Chip Micro-Cap, a hybrid of a full strength, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With Micro-Cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold & torsional stability,  while the ski’s topsheet wraps around & meets the sidewall protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping. Key Features CT Signature Shape, Flex & Stance Designed by the man himself, Candide Thovex, & the very same skis that he rides straight out of the wrapper. Based on the CT 5.0, the shape is retro-fitted to the narrower models in the range. SIGNATURe SHAPe:  Moderately tapered tips & tails are complemented by an elliptical  Radius sidecut for efficient, precise handling & carving. A combination of generous rocker & modest camber results in a wonderfully playful character, injecting new energy into an otherwise routine day on the mountain.  SIGNATURe FLe X:  Candide is never not tinkering, tweaking, learning, improving.  He’s adamant that bigger rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips & tails to help settle the skis & power through variable snow. in addition, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when skiers touch down after going airborne. Just add a touch more flex under foot & it allows the skis to load up & POP on request. Welcome to the Candide Thovex Signature Flex. SIGNATURe STANCe:  The narrowest spot on the ski is the centre of the radius, & it happens to be the most intuitive place from which to initiate pivoting of the funkfreaky-freestyle variety. Mounting here also works wonders for carving & popping off the back & front of your skis.XL 2.5mm edges Thicker edges mean increased durability & impact resistance, crucial for a ski that is built to test the rule book. elliptic Radius Sidecutelliptical Radius  Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot & shorter radii in the tip & tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster & easier, while a shorter radius in the tip & tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles & mounting positions.e B tester’s comments: Luke (Buying Team)  The 2.0 ensures that skiing is fun.  It’s poppy, lively & very good at making you think you’re better than you are.  Great in softer snow and on natural jumps,  and not too wide that it’s a drag when you’re back on groomers.
