Aimed at that new generation of freecarver who is looking for the ultimate in on-piste performance but still want their board to be fun. It's no surprise then to find that the Tracer is the weapon of choice for the Slice & Dice video crew. Built around a unique asymmetrical shape, the Tracer is designed to optimise the body's bio-mechanical transfer of energy to the edges. This results in truly stunning performance & one of the most reassuring & stable rides that you can get. The fact that it does this without compromising its fun factor ensures that you get a board that will not only blow your mind on those days where you want to charge but one which will also send you home grinning like a fool. (Available as either a goofy or regular) Rider Style Intermediate to expert freecarvers looking for a unique combination of hard-charging piste performance with grin-inducing playfulness. Shape Overview The Tracers fully directional asymmetrical shape has been created to deliver optimum performance through the turn. By offsetting the position of the edges relative to the angle of the feet & adding a longer sidecut radius on the heelside, the sidecut works in harmony with the body's natural biomechanical energy to optimise performance on both toeside & heelside turns. One of the key factors in the Tracers unique performance is the combination of the Asym Round Square nose & the Asym Inversed Round tail. Although offset along with the sidecut & flex, these two innovative profiles allow the designers to create a shorter board without compromising both float & response. Profile To ensure that the Tracer delivers the ultimate in response & control, Nidecker utilises their traditional Positive Camber profile. This full-length camber with 8 to 10 cm of flat transition at the contact points delivers unrivalled grip, pop, response & stability, i.e. the perfect riding characteristics for anyone looking for optimum carving performance. As with the sidecut shape & construction, Nidecker offset the centre of the sidecut under the centre of the edges. This offset works in harmony with the rest of the board to deliver genuinely stunning carving performance. Construction Internally the Tracer utilises a mix of high-quality materials & traditional snowboard manufacturing to create its unique rider friendly responsive & dynamic ride. Heading this up is the poppy Master core. Combining poplar for durability, beech for pop & power & paulownia for weight saving, it delivers the optimum performance for the Tracers unique design. This is then matched to Nidecker's exclusive Tri-Ax Plus structural layers which orientates the fibres to 35°. This offers the perfect balance of high performance & durability, but more importantly, it knocks back torsional stiffness a notch compared to the usual 45° glass & goes a long way to creating the Tracers unique fun ride. Base Developed exclusively for Nidecker, the N-7000 is an extremely tough, sintered base with added carbon nanoparticles that provide exceptional glide.
