Volkl Squad Prime 2013 Snowboard
Thanks to Volkls Ultralight core and topsheet technologies, the Squad Prime is extremely light and nimble, which is ideal given that this board was made for spinning. High end features such as carbon inserts, advanced dampening technologies and wooden sidewalls give this board great pop, while retaining consistency throughout the flex pattern of the board. Traditional camber profile will suit expert riders by offering unmatched pop, and fantastic hardpack edge hold. A slightly higher rise in the nose than the tail will provide good float in powder, opening the Squad Prime up to the major leagues of backcountry booters. As with all Volkl snowboard sidecuts, multiple radii are blended together to produce an extremely controlled turn, allowing slight pressure changes to alter your turn radius, without having to drastically alter body position. The Ultralight Poplar Woodcore represents a 20% weight saving over the already pretty light classic wood core. Generally used in combination with carbon stringers, axial weaves and various other flex/stiffness tuning additives to produce a super light weight high performance board. Volkl’s thinnest topsheet yet. The Ultralight Topsheet, at just 0.3mm thick is super light. Everyone could benefit from
a bit of weight shaving. Sections of the topsheet lacquer are impregnated with coarse, or fine grains, this Partial Grip Lacquer add grip and a very visually stimulating graphical design. Horror Shock Absorbers are H shaped hardwood inserts in the binding areas. They absorb the shock and vibrations from the board, reducing the amount that reaches your bindings. They also add overall strength and durability to the board, while enhancing the pop.
