With the development of full rocker skis & widths increasing further, the Mantra has almost re-invented itself without having to do anything; it is superb when pushed hard on piste, & carves sweeping turns amazingly well, in any kind of snow conditions, & yes it is also adept off the sides in fresh powder, adding a zesty speed to your turns rather than a ‘barge’ feel. So for me personally I think this is a superb all conditions piste ski that is also fantastic off piste, rather than, when it first arrived, & off piste ski that can carve. Either way – It works! This year’s graphic is very nice too, with a very deep red replacing samurai’s & wolves. I like it, a lot! IS IT FOR ME? For the all mountain skier who doesn’t want to compromise too much on carving ability on the pistes, & wants a powerful & stiffer all mountain ski.
