Ideal for lighter, ambitious female skiers the Allura is an impressively elegant & fast riding ski for all conditions. For years now Volkl have been dedicated to constructing women’s skis that are precisely attuned to the female anatomy. The BIO-LOGIC xtra LIGHT technology impacts all key characteristics & defines the flex, sidecut, & core structure to fit the

The Allura Features a tip rocker profile, this means that the variable edge length at the shovel makes the ski much easier to turn. It has a cambered area underneath the foot & at the tail, this provides a feeling of power, drive & grip. Double Grip XTD- Ever since carving was invented, edge grip has been vital. Precise hold has become the deciding factor in skiing as speeds & carving forces have increased. In order to optimise power over the edges, V-LKL has developed the Double Grip principle: double height, double edge grip! The doubling of the Wood Core construction with a second wood core built up over the edges allows greater power transfer & stability & increases leverage. With Double Grip XTD, the additional wood core extends along the entire length of the ski. This makes the continuous flex of the ski rounder & more harmonious. The result is precise edge grip & reliable hold so you can carve your track through the snow at high speeds XTD Woodcore Xtra LIGHT- The Extended (XTD) Wood Core is used in Dual XTD Transmission constructions. More forgiving than the Extended Sensorwood Core, it consists of a solid central section that extends toward the tip & tail. In the Essenza series, the Xtralight wood cores are created using lighter weight material, along with channels milled out of the bottom of the core. Snappy & resilient, these hight tech wood cores save significant weight. Ski

I was surprised, for a ski that has a laminate making it stiffer, that it actually felt compliant across the mountain & I never felt like the ski was rushing me at all, & instead just felt very planted when cruising.

The Volkl Bridge does exactly what it says on the tin, providing a versatile ski that is as adept at freeride piste skiing as it is in the park flying off kickers. The Volkl Bridge is we feel a pretty rare beast – A ski that can truly perform at 100% in the park & out in the powder too. This incredible versatility is thanks to a moderate full freeride rocker, a ‘just-right’ 95mm width & superb edge grip. There is plenty of pop in them thanks to the multi layered wood core that puts rebound where it is needed, & the rider position has been tweaked too. It is a testament to these skis that I would happily buy them as an all mountain ski, even though I am not a park skiers, & yet members of the UK test team that are park orientated were doing things that you would expect from a dedicated Park ski, on the test pipe & jumps in Kuhtai. This ski is just that good! & if you are an all mountain skier who still spends a fair chunk of time on the piste, in changeable conditions, these are a great ski hitting that 95mm wide sweet spot.

The ski for those who love time in powder, in the park & on groomers. For those riders who love time in the powder but spend most of their time on the groomed slopes & occasionally want to throw off some new tricks on the kicker & park, the Bridge with a moderate full rocker is the optimal fun machine. Tough Box Construction features a multi-layered wood core wrapped with a composite/fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate resilience & snap for Völkl’s freeskiing models. Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds snap, strength & binding screw retention. The top-of-the-line models in the V-LKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system
- all powered by titanium. There is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski & adding power & stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds. Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention & stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience & snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics. Ski

The Cashew is an uncomprimised backcountry freestyle board.   The fact that it is extremely environmentally consciouusly manufactered, has in no way limited what Volkl have managed to achieve with this ride. Packed to the brim with technology & features.

Specification Construction: Directional Freeride Sidecut, All Mountain/ Powder rocker, Convex Powder Base, Wooden Veneer topsheet with partial grip lacquer, Supreme Woodcore, Shock Absorbers, Wooden Sidewalls with TPU dampening,  POP 2.0 stringers, Sintered Recycled Base   Length: 162cm Running length: 124.0cm Waist

Width:
26.1cm Sidecut radius: 8.55m (average) Setback: 15mm Flex: 6

Features:
Directional Freestyle Sidecut – A great combination of directional sidecut & slight setback enables a rider to lap the park with complete confidence, & take the same board to the big leagues of backcountry madness. Slightly stiffer in the tail than the nose, these boards float great in the powder, but can also be ridden with the bindings centred on the board for a more freestyle biased ride. As with all Volkl snowboard sidecuts, multiple radii are blended together to produce an extremely controlled turn, allowing slight pressure changes to alter your turn radius, without having to drastically alter body position.   The Powder Rocker profile, has a flat section of board extending from just behind the rear binding inserts, to the middle of the front binding inserts.   Up front there is a fairly long, & high rockered section leading into nose, & out back there is a shorter, less tall rockered section leading into the tail to drop the back end into the soft snow. Front end lift is effortless.   The base of the board lifts up as it approaches the edges, this Convex Powder Base makes catching an edge a thing of the past, & provides even greater float in the powder, as the resistance is much higher at the edges of the board.   Wooden Veneer topsheet – Rather than extruding the graphics into the back of the topsheet material, the graphical design is printed directly onto the wooden topsheet of the board, eliminating the need for the heavy topsheet entirely.   Great weight saving for the board, & great resource saving for the planet.   Sections of the topsheet lacquer are impregnated with coarse, or fine grains, this Partial Grip Lacquer adds both grip, & a very visually stimulating graphical design.   Supreme Woodcore is made from tip to tail Aspen-Falcatta blend, with four strips of Falcatta integrated into the Aspen core.   This results in a lightweight, strong & flexible core material.   Shock Absorbers are single sheets of hardwood laid into the core where the board thickness tapers down at the tip & tail.   Wooden Sidewalls with TPU Dampening – Several different plys of Armor wood above a layer of shock absorbing thermal poly urethane.   This not only looks stunning,  but achieve a more consistent flex pattern than ABS sidewalls
