The Atomic Alibi falls into the Atomic Vantage range.  the skis in this range have won ski of the year for the last two seasons & it was the alibi that won it last year thanks to its incredible versatility & ease of use.  However it is not just the Alibi that offers these traits.  Every ski in the vantage range offers great performance both on & off piste, with reliable grip in all conditions & exceptional smoothness on any terrain.  Utilizing their backbone technology which in the alibi’s case is constructed with titanium this offers great stability & the twin progressive sidecut offers a bigger radius at the tip & a smaller radius at the tail for easy turn initiation & optimum grip out of turns. Camber/ Rocker:  All Mountain Rocker Technology:   Backbone Technology Bindings:  These come with Atomic FFG12 bindings Features & Benefits All mountain rocker: This is a 65% camber underfoot with the first 20% lifted in the nose & 15% lifted in the tail.  This mix allows the ski to still hold its edge very well on piste when engaged, but the tip is high enough to sit up in new snow & allows great float & easy turn initiation.  This set up allows for a very versatile ski. Step down Sidewall Woodcore Titanium Backbone: The extremely durable sidewall construction below the binding ensures optimum absorption, while the Backbone & Woodcore maximizes the power flow & therefore improves edge grip.  Vibrations in the Rocker area are effectively dampened by the Backbone.  Plus its shape allows for effortless turning thanks to consistent rigidity & performance.  Extreme smoothness & exceptional dynamics are the hallmarks of the titanium version. This was a new ski for the 2012/13 season & it won ski of the year straight off!  Not bad going for a new ski.  I really enjoyed this & found it really versatile & very easy to ski on.  The Alibi uses the titainium backbone & a step down sidewall to offer great edge hold on a fairly wide ski, the titanium also gives a more powefull feeling when skiing on piste & so, although not as lively as the Theory, it feels more powerful & better for the dedicated all mountain skier. Is this for me? This is for the advanced skier who enjoy all mountain skiing & are looking for a ski that performs really well in t he powder but is good enough to use the piste & hardpack to get around & find the powder bowls & trees.
