Throw it into the powder though & it floats with ease never feeling like it is going to buck you around thanks to the smoother rebound in the core from the Aspen/ Paulownia wood core. A fantastic ski for the freerider or wannabe freerider like me! IS IT FOR ME? For the all-mountain freeride & freestyle skier who is looking for a wide one-quiver all conditions ski that still feels plenty playful underfoot when on firmer pistes.

This year K2 have looked back over this 50 years of history & drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis.  By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. Powder tip: The Addition of rocker eliminates the need for increased surface area in the tip to create lift & initiate float.  K2’s Powder Tip design pulled the widest point of the tip further down the ski, which retains float in soft snow, & also minimizes deflection in adverse snow conditions. Tip & Tail Holes: All Adventure skis come with tip/tail holes that vastly increase the skis utility.  By allowing you to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors, you can carry less weight while increasing your safety margin.  These holes also function as attachment points for the K2 Specific skins & come with a removable plug.
