Kastle MX98 2015 Skis With Attack 13 Bindings
The new MX98 is a powerhouse of a ski - Featuring a twin titanal laminate and silver fir core with classic sidewall construction it clings to the piste, and yet in powder the hollowtech nose gives tonnes of float. With the help of the HOLLOWTECH technology the ski‘s running characteristics is improved. The cutout section in the shovel leads to a reduced weight of the freely vibrating zone by almost 15 %. The resulting lower inertia moments optimize the retraction behavior of the ski. This means that after an impact the shovel returns much faster to the stable condition, enabling the ski to keep its track much more precisely. A 98mm width increases the surface area of the ski and therefore the float substantially, and yet with the classic sidewall construction and full wood

The MX98 strives for more versatile performance and, as such, a mix of ash and silver fir is used to construct the wood core. This combination offers weight savings without compromising stability. I though that Kastle would be pushing it with the 98mm width for a ski that is this powerful, but it is simply stunning. It is not for the lazy skier, but if you hark back to the days of hot hatches with zero power steering, where YOU have to put all the effort in and get to feel everything in return as you thunder down all terrains, then get the MX98 as soon as possible to see what I mean!
