This year K2 have looked back over this 50 years of history & drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis.  By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. An expert level women’s ski that performs beautifully in soft snow or ungroomed conditions anywhere at the resort.  Its All-Terrain Rocker gives the ski extra float & versatility for unmatched confidence in fresh snow & crud conditions; all while creating easy turn initiation for effortless carving on corduroy.   Ski

Specification Geometry:  128mm / 84mm / 112mm Turn Radius: 14 metres at 160cm Terrain: Piste Orientated Core

Material:
Aspen/ Paulownia/ Bamboo Woodcore Camber/ Rocker: All Terrain Rocker Technology: Hybritech sidewall, Metal Laminate, Bio Flex 3 Core, progressive sidecut, MOD technology. Bindings: Marker K2/ERS 11.0   Ski Features All Terrain Rocker (30% tip rocker): Designed for all ability levels with added versatility & ease in all snow conditions.  All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable & soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy & edge-hold in firmer conditions. Metal Laminate: K2 women’s metal laminate skis are built with a thinner strip of titanal than men’s skis.  Proportional to lighter weight women’s skiers, the thinner layer offers overall weight reduction while still providing expert level skiers the benefits of performance & dampening, consistent with metal laminate construction. Hybritech Sidewalls:  Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall & cap constructions.  The construction combines the accuracy, power & performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics & smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Progressive Sidecut: Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees enhanced turn initiation & hard-snow performance. Bio Flex core: All K2 women’s skis use a combination of Aspen, Paulownia & Bamboo stringer in a unique core known as Bio Flex.  A strong Aspen core underfoot is fused with lightweight Paulownia towards the tip & tail to reduce swing-weight.  In 2012/13 K2 continued to develop three variations of the Bio Flex core specifically tuned to a target performance. This ski contains Bioflex 3:  80% Aspen & 20% Paulownia
- Increased performance, strength & durability. Marker K2/ERS System: The lightweight Marker K2/ERS (Energy Response System) is used exclusively on the Super Models skis.  The integrated hubs are closer together from toe to heel to accommodate a smaller boot sole & maintain smooth flexing of the ski.  The women’s specific binding features a Triple-Pivot comfort Toe & Twin Cam 2 heel.  The K2/ERS is a full pound lighter than the previous system. This is always a popular ski in the K2 Super Model range & this year K2 have been working very hard to try & reduce weight on these, whilst still offering the same great perf

It also acts to support the rocker of the ski, & each ski length has a modified ROX design to get the best from the given ski length. Carbon web runs through the ROX system which absorbs trail buzz keeping the nose super stable as you lay down fast turns & don’t have to worry about nose chatter. Underneath there is a women’s specific Bio Flex wood core, with 3 densities of wood at the nose, the centre, & tail of the ski, to give the perfect blend of rebound, performance & light weight. FEATURES & BENEFITS AT ROX to help with torsional stability, damping & progressive flex on all runs & off-piste Bio Flex 3 Full Wood Core – A lightweight combination of 3 wood densities to enhance performance, specifically for women All-Terrain Rocker – 70% Traditional Camber with a 30% tip rocker for awesome versatility & float across the whole mountain without loss of edge hold K2 / Marker ERC System -  The all-new K2/ Marker women’s-specific ERC (Energy Response Contact) binding system is our widest ski binding system, with a 54% wider attachment. Thanks to zinc feet that extend toward the edges of the ski, the ERC system delivers greater precision & control on the wider-waisted Super skis. In addition to being wider, the binding stand height has been reduced by 12%, adding almost 10% in weight savings.

Mod Monic:  A Focused Mass Dampener; The Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at the targeted location.  Although the location for this targeted mass dampening is consistent between our men’s & Women’s models, the amount of focused mass is reduced in our women’s version.  The women’s Mod Monic is designed to accent the overall look without sacrificing function. ...

K2 started out 50 years ago by two people – Who made animal cages – in a garage – on a small island in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.  Bill & Don Kirschner (thus the name K2) could have continued this quite life producing animal cages, but these guys were passionate skiers & so they bent steel, shaped cores, applied fibreglass, & through pure commitment, guts & determination built a ski brand out of their garage that has since become one of the largest in the world & their skis are often seen on the Freeride world cup circuit. This year K2 have looked back over this 50years of history & drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis.  By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. Learning skiers will appreciate this ski’s Catch-Free Rocker as they learn to carve turns without worrying about hooking an edge.  This ski’s manoeuvrability & simple turn initiation will leave a smile on your face at the end of a fun, successful & sweet day of skiing.   Ski

A lightweight touring ski that is as adept going up as it is descending virgin backcountry pow. Specifications Geometry: 124mm / 88mm / 108mm Turning Radius: 18 meteres @ 160cm Base Profile: All-Terrain Rocker Construction: Cap Construction with Bio Flex 2 Core Bindings: Ski Only Features & Benefits All-Terrain Rocker All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable & soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, & edge-hold in firmer conditions. Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility & ease in all snow conditions. Cap Construction Durable & lightweight “cap” skis are built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core & internal materials with the top layer of the ski. Used throughout our ski line, cap constructions can be assembled with a variety of different cores. These variations, such as glass and/or metal materials, are the determining factors of the skis’ performance. Bioflex Cores All of K2’s women’s skis use cores that feature a combination of Aspen, Paulownia, & Bamboo. Bio Flex cores are comprised of strong Aspen wood underfoot, which is fused with lightweight Paulownia in the tip & tail using a specific interlocking pattern that reduces swing-weight & provides a smooth-flexing ski. For 2013/14, K2 continues to apply this technology through one of the following three variations of Bio Flex, each specifically tuned to target different performance goals. This ski has Bioflex 2 which is 70% Aspen / 30% Paulownia which reduces the swing-weight of the ski with added performance Progressive Sidecut Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees enhanced turn initiation & hard-snow performance. Carbon Web Enveloping the Mod structure with a carbon weave where the strands of carbon are laid at precise angles for an additional level of torsional rigidity on the secondary core. This keeps the ski light but gives you the additional torsional strength where you need it most. Snophobic Topsheet Since snow collecting on the ski can add pounds to a climb, our Sno Phobic tops keep you light with a new snow-repellent topsheet. The running surface along the bottom of a ski is hydrophobic by design, so we’ve developed a thinner version of the same material to use on the Back Side model-specific topsheets. Skin Grommets The new freeride tip & tail grommets are a clean, simple design that no longer requires a plug. The durable rubber coating disguises a slit designed to accommodate both the Z clip for our skin attachments, & the components to build a rescue sled. Torsion Box Torsion Box construction is the foundation for the widest range of skis designed by K2. Depending on the

Dimensions of a ski, & the amount of flex & torsion designed into it, one model of a Torsion Box ski can differ greatly from another. The versatility in the construction enables us to build everything from entry-level through expert skis. Womens version of the very popular K2 Wayback this turns tight in the trees & provides enough surface area to enjoy the untouched backcountry snow you worked so hard to find. We have stocked K2 since we started the business & with the range & quality of their skis it is easy to see why.  Speak to any staff member & they own or would like to own at least one pair from the K2 range. This year K2 have added Rox technology across a number of the women’s range to improve their edge hold & torsional stiffness in the tip as well as help vibration dampening. This was utilized in the mens range last season with great response & is now spread out across more of their range.  This, combined with their new Baseline 2.0 technology has changed the performance of their women specific range & they have done this by using a new comprehensive build process where a skis top shape is redesigned to complement the side profile along the entire ski.  They have called this ‘ Baseline 2.0’ & K2 has managed to engineer skis for varied skier types & even different styles of skiing, while also finely tuning them for a specific snow condition. A healthy 88mm waist won’t weigh you down, turns tight in the trees & provides enough surface area to enjoy the untouched backcountry snow you worked so hard to find.  Like every ski in the Talk Back series, the 88 skis are topped off with a nylon Sno Phobic top sheet. These skis use the Baseline 2 Backside construction.  These are built with a powder influenced design with progressively more taper as the widths increase., making the ski steer easier in soft & unpredictable snow. The profile of the tips is long & low with All-Terrain Rocker for smooth planning through softer snow & increased versatility..  The waist widths allow medium to long radius sidecuts for reduced weight & to empower confidence during medium to long turns, while the camber on these skis is medium to low for a consistent feel in a variety of snow conditions.   Finally the tails offer greater versatility by allowing skier to adjust the arc mid-turn & makes the turn release easier.  The tail profiles are flat & allow the skier to plunge the tails into the snow in order to build anchors Ski

Endo construction ensures that this premium quality boot will stay true to form for significantly longer than a traditional construction boot. Boa Focus & Boa Conda systems ensure that you can get the perfect setup, Vibram outsoles are unquestionably the highest quality outsoles available on Snowboard boots, & the intuition liners provide unmatched fit & support.  All in all this boot ticks all the boxes, & several more that you didn’t even know that you couldn’t live without until now. Endo Construction is a K2 process whereby a Urethane sheet forms part of the boot shell. The sheet wraps around the rear of the boot, offering consistent & durable flex, while reducing vibrations.  Urethane is far more durable than traditional material & stitching, & will remain consistent & predictable long after inferior boots have lost their mojo. Turns a 30 day boot into a 90 day boot. K2 was the first snowboard company to introduce Boa lacing systems.  Twist the (all new) Boa dial on the front of your boot tongue, & the boot will evenly tighten.  Push the button in, & the ratchet releases, & your boots loosen.  The new Coiler version will even automatically retract the slack in your loose laces. Easy to use with gloves on, no more tangled laces, & if you have any concerns over the strength of the cable, don’t.  They are strooooong. Boa Focus is K2’s multi zone Boa lacing system. One Boa dial is dedicated to the lower lacing zone of the boot, while a Coiler Boa dial controls the upper lacing zone.  The coiler Boa automatically retracts loose laces keeping your boots in shape & out of trouble when not on your feet.  The Boa Focus, combined with the Boa Conda will offer you 3 dials of adjustment to fine tune your boot. Boa Conda Lacing systems are a godsend. They allow you to adjust the tightness & hold of your inner laces, without having to loosen your outer laces.  Twist the dial on the side of the boot & the internal lacing will pull your heel back in to your boot for added control. Aching feet? Try releasing some of that tension to give your swollen feet a bit of respite. Intuition Liners are highly regarded custom mouldable liners, using Ultralon Foam. Fully mouldable either in store as part of our free boot fitting process, or on the hill through the heat from your body. Intuition pro foam 3D liners use High density Intuition Ultralon foam for perfect fit & support. They also feature internal & external ‘J’ bars for maximum ankle & heel hold. An integrated power strap helps keep everything nice & secure.  Insoles are constructed of 3D moulded Dual EVA with Harshmellow inserts for added comfort. J bars are inserts for your boot liner.  They can be found either inside, or outside of the liner itself, & are designed to increase the support & hold on your feet. Usually found in the heel pocket to prevent your heel from lifting inside an otherwise well fitting boot. AEPE Cages are ‘F’ shaped support inserts found on the rear of the liner cuffs. These offer added support & stiffness to the boot on heelside motions, while
