The lightweight construction is bolstered by the durability necessary to send it big in the park or anywhere on the mountain. We have stocked K2 since we started the business & with the range & quality of their skis it is easy to see why.  Speak to any staff member & they own or would like to own at least one pair from the K2 range. This year K2 have added Ro X technology across a number of the women’s range to improve their edge hold & torsional stiffness in the tip as well as help vibration dampening. This was utilized in the men’s range last season with great response & is now spread out across more of their range.  This, combined with their new Baseline 2.0 technology has changed the performance of their women specific range & they have done this by using a new comprehensive build process where a skis top shape is redesigned to complement the side profile along the entire ski.  They have called this ‘ Baseline 2.0’ & K2 has managed to engineer skis for varied skier types & even different styles of skiing, while also finely tuning them for a specific snow condition. The K2 Press’s lightweight construction is bolstered by the durability necessary to send it big in the park or anywhere on the mountain.  The Jib Rocker makes surface swaps & butters seamless. These skis use the Baseline 2 Freestyle construction.  These skis use Jib Rocker profiles to maximized switch skiing performance with balanced feel, at the tip then are using a standard rise & a round tip to offer versatility & added pop. Underfoot these feature a moderate amount of sidecut to provide the accuracy, stability & versatility. At the tail they again offer the rounded tail shape to provide ease of release out of the turns. Is this for me? A great ski to start your freestyle career or if you are a confident skier but new to park skiing & would like something to help you progress in this disapline.   SKI BINDING ADVICE: You will need a minimum 90mm brake width for this ski. Inspired by the iconic red, white & blue graphic that catapulted K2 onto a global stage in the early 70’s, the 50th Anniversary Recoil is a tribute to original K2 Comp. Promoted & made famous by the Performers who pioneered the freestyle movement, the 50th Anniversary Recoil continues to push the next generation of the Freestyle movement with a tool designed to attack the entire mountain, park & urban features. Specifications Binding Options: No Binding Geometry: 121mm
- 90mm
- 115mm Performance: All-Mountain: 50%, Park: 50% Radius: 20m @ 179/ Bi-Directional Taper Construction: Twin Tech Sidewall Triaxial Braided Fir/ Aspen Core Technology All Terrain Rocker: All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable & soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, & edge-hold in firmer conditions. Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility & ease in all snow conditions. Bi-Directional Taper: The tip is still wider but closer in width to the tail. This allows the ski to perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction but the taper enables the skier to have similar switch arc for better & more consistent switch riding. Triaxial Braiding: Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex & torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, & energy in both expert & entry level skis. 3.5mm Edges: Factory Team skis use thick, durable steel edges. It is far more resistant to cracking for a more durable, longer lasting ski. Twin Tech Sidewalls: This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material & sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse. Plates & Rivets: K2 tip & tail rivets have evolved to allow the addition of a pre-cut climbing skin onto the ski for all your backcountry access needs.

This widest womens freeride ski from K2 provides the lost float for deep powder but is built with a twin tip for easy release in soft snow & added maneuverability. Ample camber underfoot increases the Remedys capabilities when the pow gets tracked out.

Specification Sidecut:  146mm-117mm-134mm Radius: 20 Metres (For 169cm Length) Base Profile:  Powder Rocker Ski Core: Triaxial Braid, Bio Flex 3 Core Bindings: Ski Only Features & Benefits Powder Rocker This tip has the most elevation & longest measurement of Rocker & offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions. Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow. Progressive Sidecut Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees enhanced turn initiation & hard-snow performance. Bioflex Cores All of K2’s women’s skis use cores that feature a combination of Aspen, Paulownia, & Bamboo. Bio Flex cores are comprised of strong Aspen wood underfoot, which is fused with lightweight Paulownia in the tip & tail using a specific interlocking pattern that reduces swing-weight & provides a smooth-flexing ski. For 2013/14, K2 continues to apply this technology through one of the following three variations of Bio Flex, each specifically tuned to target different performance goals. Bioflex 3 – 80% Aspen/20% Paulownia – Increased performance, strength, & durability Twintech Sidewall Twin Tip specific construction increases the durability of K2 sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material & sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction rolls the top material into the sidewall, reducing the angle that is prone to abuse, minimizing ski-to-ski impact damage. Powder Tip Designed to be more predictable in soft snow conditions, these tips are designed to strike the perfect balance of maximizing float while reducing tip deflection. These tips are designed with a gentle arc & transition into the sidecut of the ski. Skin Grommets The new freeride tip & tail grommets are a clean, simple design that no longer requires a plug. The durable rubber coating disguises a slit designed to accommodate both the Z clip for our skin attachments, & the components to build a rescue sled. Swap Base The bases of these skis can come in two different color ways, depending of how the colors are swapped on the base. This gives two looks to the same ski, & ensures you are not rocking the exact same pair as your buddy who just picked up the same pair of skis. Triaxial Braid The patented Triaxial Braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled core, resulting in great torsional strength while retaining the lively flex patterns inherent in a wood core ski.
