The Head Rush Rocka is an entry level freestyle snowboard with a full rocker profile for easy turns. The Rush may be an entry level board, but it features full wood core, Heads Rocka profile to reduce catching an edge & generate loads of float in the powder. Soft & Buttery, it’s a great board to develop those park skills.  Specification: Construction: Rocka Board Profile, Flock Twin Shaping, Cruiser Jacket Laminate, Wood Core, Extruded Base Length: 158cm Running length: 77.9cm Waist

Width:
25.4cm Sidecut radius: 5.9 Metres Setback: Twin Flex: 3

Features:
Rocka profile boards have no flat or raised sections in the profile. This means that it is virtually impossible to catch an edge, making for a very forgiving ride, ideal for less experienced riders, & those who favour the park & easy cruising. The effective edge on Rocka boards is shorter than on the other Head profiles, ideal for presses & butters, but not quite so well suited to fast carving. Twin Directional sidecuts feature symmetrical  sidecut profile & flex patterns, with the bindings offset toward the rear of the board, resulting in an extremely versatile board that can throw down on hardpack, in the park & in the backcountry. A Wood core is made from stringers of lightweight Poplar. Strong & durable. Extruded bases are extremely durable & easy to maintain.   A choice of board profile makes a huge difference to your riding options.  Head have done a fine job to offer a variety of board profiles at their entry level price point.  The Rush is a great choice for those fairly new to the sport, but with aspirations of freestyle superstardom. Great for jumps, tricks, jibs & more.  This soft & buttery board would also be a great choice for a more advanced rider looking for a board to ride street for those few snowy days we get here in Blighty.

The Scout is an Ideal first pair of snowboard boots. Soft, forgiving & comfortable. Designed & specified to encourage progression & to promote having fun on your board. Heat mouldable liners, 3D Moulded tongue & soft top shells are all great features at this pricepoint.   Specification: ·         Heat Mouldable Autofit Liner, ·         Thermal Insole, ·         Moonwalker Sole ·         EVA Padding, ·         Men’s Heel Pad, ·         Soft top Shell, ·         3D Tongue, ·         Metal Lace Hooks Flex Index: 1 Forward Lean: 7°

Features:
Autofit Liners are pre-moulded for a great out the box fit. They tend to be found on entry level boots where the support required from the boot is slightly less than on stiffer offering. Heat Mouldable liners can be heated, & then allowed to cool around your feet.  This causes them to match the exact shape of your feet for the perfect fit.  Think shrink to fit jeans. Moonwalker Soles are an extremely grippy rubber sole featuring a framed footprint, with cutaway areas of rubber studs. Thermo Insoles are made from a leightweight EVA foam that provides great support for your feet, & is also a great insulator, keeping your tootsies nice & warm. Heat Moulded EVA Padding is added to the liners to provide extra support & enhanced flex consistency. Heel Pads are L shaped foam pads that provide extra support around the ankle. Soft Top  Shells feature a soft material on the back of the boot at the top of the cuff.  This area of the boot is not required to be stiff for performance, & can often chafe or bruiser your calf muscles if too hard. 3D Tongues are designed into all Head snowboard boots. They closely follow the contour of your shins/feet & provide great support Metal Lace Hooks are still the most accurate & precise form of boot fastening.  Laces are easily replaceable, & differing support can be achieved at various areas of the boot. Tight ankle, loose toes? No problem.  Tight ankle & toes, loose cuff? Easy.  Loose ankle, toes & cuff? If that’s your thing! Flex index 1 is a forgiving flex. This means that less input from your body is being transferred to the board than with a stiffer boot, but equally less of the forces & obstacles encountered by the board are sent back to the rider. Forward lean -7° is a fairly low angle of forward lean. This makes for a nice relaxed stance, great for novices & those who like to cruise   A good pair of boots is arguably the single most important piece of kit you can own. These boots aren’t going to be well suited to charging down couloirs, & would probably not offer quite as

Head are capable of introducing new technology (like i. Kers which is found in their higher end boards) & design ideas like DCT, featured on this year’s Shine, which question traditional snowboard construction. Not only that, but they do it at such a great price that this kind of innovative design can be available to everyone.   The Double Camber Torsion design gives this board the edge hold of camber with the easy turn initiation synonymous with soft rocker boards. Specification: Profile: Hybrid Camba (DCT) Running length: 115.4cm Waist

Width:
24.3cm Sidecut radius: 7.9/7.8 Setback: 10mm Flex: Not Specified (Specification based on the 149cm board)

Features:
Short for Double Camber Torsion, the DCT profile has camber sections below each binding which goes all the way to the contact points at the tip & tail. It has a flat section in the middle which, combined with the camber, provides the response & precision of a camber board with the mellowness of a flat profile. The DCT profile is combined with a narrower waist for increased torsional flex which makes front & rear foot isolation more natural & therefore makes turning easier. The Biaxal Cruiser Jacket is a glass weave laminate that provides a smooth & effortless ride. The h&-picked wood stringers that make up the Poplar Core are both lively, long-lasting & provide a consistent flex. Both fast & durable the Extruded Base is easy to maintain, which is particularly good if you aren’t one for waxing your board regularly. With a slight set back the Twin Directional shape is suitable for riding the whole mountain as well as the park & pipe. The majority of snowboarders want a board that is stable enough on an edge that you can be confident when carving & riding those steep & icy faces whilst also being soft enough to be fun & easy to learn new things on. What Head have achieved in the Shine is a board that has these characteristics due to the DCT Hybrid Camba profile without needing the expensive added materials used by the completion. This board has to be one of the best value boards on the market. Is it for me? The ideal first board if you are an intermediate with a couple of weeks under your belt or even an advanced rider that has lost count. The setback twin shape suits all-mountain riding, as well those looking to excel in the park.
