This course is for those wanting to prepare for employment in a ski/snowboard shop, whether in resort or the UK, in both ski/board technician and boot fitting environments, for maximum versatility. PLEASE NOTE: If you want to attend a specific course from our course diary please contact us BEFORE making payment to check availability :o) We offer this course to give you that initial experience, and lay foundations for you to become a fully competent and much loved ski tech or boot fitter! This course is certificated, and we also hold records of all attendees and offer confirmations to potential employers of your attendance at no additional cost. Day one is our Ski & Snowboard Technician Course, and Day two is our BSBA 101 Ski Boot Fitting Course. This course is certified by the BSBA

fitting guidelines and best practice Foot facts and biomechanics basics The role of insoles and socks in correct fitting Measuring the foot for boots Shell checks Customisation and modifications Common fit problems and solutions FACILITIES Our workshop facility contains custom finished work areas with ski and snowboard vices. We have a floating workshop desk to allow several candidates to work safely, and to watch demonstrations in comfort without straining to see what is going on. All the core tools from irons to P-tex guns are available, along with a variety of waxes to demonstrate. The facility has a ski and snowboard base grinding machine, combined with a side edge tool for setting of side edge angles. And we have one of the few fully working and calibrated binding test machines
in the UK. Environment We want you to be comfortable, and to be honest we want to be comfortable too! So we have custom built the facility from a shell, even selecting paints that reduce eye strain (Despite the bright green colour!). We have a built in air extraction facility that is normally found in buildings with 7 rooms, to ensure that when working with fluorocarbon waxes that any fumes are extracted as quickly as possible. Room temperature is controlled by a modern air conditioning system allowing us to drop the temperature to as low as 15 degrees or as high as 38 degrees. We also had the chairs which we carefully selected fitted with comfortable bases with decent foam, to reduce numb-bum to a minimum. The floor has been fitted with 7mm stress reducing rubber workshop
matting, which is durable and reduces foot impact, and areas of this have been further enhanced
