Marker Kingpin 13 2015 Ski Touring Binding With 100mm Brake
The Marker Kingpin 13 is 3 years in the making, and is set to change the way we look at ski touring bindings. Suitable for tech compatible ski touring boots, this is the 100mm brake version. touring and free touring situations, and performs excellently on the runs to resort too. Unbeatable power transmission is offered from the unique heel design that combines technologies from Markers successful Royal Family binding range with the requirements of a ski touring binding, incorporating easy walk height adjustment. THE KINGPIN NOSE The oversized nose plate and assembly design incorporates a SixPack spring retention system for enhanced comfort, easier handling on harder snow, and security underfoot. The extra wide screw pattern at 38mm passes energy to the edges - where it is needed. Quiver Killers can be fitted to these bindings - often tricky with some touring binding due to different screw profiles. There is a clever easy step-in system that deals with the historic issue
of hovering your foot over the nose trying to line up your ski boot - this now takes seconds to master. The advanced Pin Tech Protection System keeps your foot solidly locked in when hiking, but also allows you to ski downhill in multi mode reducing the time needed to adjust, and for those times you forget to switch the system. THE KINGPIN HEEL The Kingpin heel features extra wide contact points which combine with the Kingpin boot heel plate perfectly, and the heel features, as with Royal Family bindings, a changeable brake, at a time when many brands are dropping this important feature. Change your skis and its no problem to change the brakes so you can swap your bindings over. Two different brakes are available for the KINGPIN (75-100 mm ski width and 100-125 mm ski width). Beyond
the standard safety features, they are notable for one convenient feature: They automatically lock into place when in walk mode, and immediately reactivate when the binding is switched into ski mode. The brakes feature a notably large move-in, moving away from the traditional brake shape that sticks far out beyond the ski. The brakes are also quick and easy to replace. The climbing aid offers 2 optional heights over the flat position - 7 and 13 degrees, and can be adjusted on the fly with your ski pole. The heel offers lateral and vertical release to DIN standards for maximum protection of joints and reduction of risk of injuries. The heel construction is a revolution for any PinTech binding, with contact points placed very wide and far apart to hold the boot heel along a broad
