The Atomic Redster JR II has been completely revamped for the new season: the World Cup-inspired kids ski makes it even easier to progress more quickly on the piste. New Bend-X Technology allows young fans of Benni and Marcel to make their first controlled turns even earlier. The special flex zone in the binding area allows the ski to bend with less effort, ensuring full contact with the snow at all times. Thanks to a Piste Rocker and V-shape, turning is childs play. Compared with the JR I, the JR II models have slightly more camber and are wider. The shape is in precise proportion to the length of the ski, so that each age group always has just the right ski. Technology Cap Fibre Construction The classic shell construction ensures great performance even with entry models. Piste Rocker Piste Rocker for on-piste skiers, who expect perfect edge grip even in the hardest snow conditions. When edged up the ski delivers full contact length. Slight rise of the tip when the ski is weighted gives easy turning and no edge catching. Bend-X Technology A special Flex Zone in the binding area which enables even the lightest of kids to easily flex their skis for greater contact with the snow. Makes initiating turns easier even with little power. Specifications Technology: Piste Rocker Chassis: XTE 45 Dimensions: 105mm / 67mm / 86mm (110cm length) Turning Radius: 8m (110cm length)

The symmetric flex puts flex in front and behind your boot which conforms to terrain equally riding forward and backwards.

The catalyst behind Line’s creation and their mission still today is the simple concept that a skier needs innovative product to progress their riding and the sport. Line skis have been around since 1995, so are considered relatively new to the sport, but they were the ones that revolutionised the skiing industry and their input and design has led to the fat, powder skis that you see around resort today with their large sidecuts and twin tip design allowing skiers to really push the boundaries of where skiing can go. Although Line skis were initially known as the leaders in the freestyle park scene, they have not been timid about bringing creativity and ingenuity to the big mountain scene. Since creating the ‘Mothership’ by gluing two ski cores together and using snowboard width materials in the early 2000’s Line have expanded their focus on creating some of the most progressive big mountain and powder skis that today win top awards by even the most conservative of ski magazines. These are for the young aspiring Eric Pollard and free skiers out there who want all the performance that the adult skis provide, but in a slightly more manageable size and weight. The Volkl Essenza Chiara is squarely aimed at the majority of European women skiers; a fantastic all conditions piste ski, confidence inspiring and able to adapt to all snow conditions. At 77mm wide although a piste biased ski it offers enough width to make trips between the runs too, and that width creates a very stable ski that allows you to focus on enjoying the mountain. The Volkl Chiara for 2014 has also had significant weight reduction thanks to an updated Biologic xtraLIGHT construction and revised Marker binding system. The core is a full wood core for superb rebound, whilst the 3D top sheet offers extra support where it is needed in the nose, tail and along the edges without making this feel too stiff a ski, making it ideal for the intermediate skier who may wish to progress, or is perfectly happy cruising the blues. The addition of a modern tip rocker to the ski, lifting the nose a little, means that you also get smooth entry into turns, and fantastic nose stability even in soft or chopped up snow. With the updated Marker 4Motion ESSENZA binding and the Biologic womens specific lightened xtraLIGHT wood core, this ski is also lightweight for easy transport, and lighter turns edge to edge, without any loss of grip or control when skiing the mountain. They have removed a lot of weight from these skis this year too, which you do notice when you pick them up, and makes the ski feel very nimble underfoot, even with it being wider than a classic piste ski. A lovely ski! IS IT FOR ME? The ideal ski for many of our customers that we see in store, who may be skiing 1 or 2 weeks per year, are at a good intermediate level and either want a ski that they can just step into and ski like a comfortable pair of slippers, or a ski that will not dent your confidence and allow you to fine tune your carving skills.
K2 started out 50 years ago by two people – Who made animal cages – in a garage – on a small island in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Bill and Don Kirschner (thus the name K2) could have continued this quite life producing animal cages, but these guys were passionate skiers and so they bent steel, shaped cores, applied fibreglass, and through pure commitment, guts and determination built a ski brand out of their garage that has since become one of the largest in the world and their skis are often seen on the Freeride world cup circuit. This year K2 have looked back over this 50years of history and drawn the best ideas together to produce a great range of skis. By combining proven shapes with optimal profiles K2 have managed to design their entire 2012/13 collection specifically for where you ski on the mountain. The Luv Bug will make learning to ski a breeze for the young ones due to its Catch-Free Rocker and easy turn initiation, Kids will appreciate its noodle technology that allows the ski to flex proportionally to a child’s weight. Ski Specification Geometry: 103mm / 70mm / 91mm (76-112cm length)
105mm / 72mm / 93mm (124-136cm length) Turn Radius: 8 Mmetres at 112cm Terrain: Piste Orientated Core Material: Composite Core Camber/Rocker: Catch-Free Rocker Technology: Torsion Box/PU. Cap construction Bindings: Noodle system FasTrack2 (4.5 & 7.0) Ski Features Catch-Free Rocker (20% tip/tail rocker): Designed to aid developing skiers with confidence, control and added ease. This elevated tip and tail assures effortless initiation at slow speeds, stability throughout the turn and a predictable release from the turn. Cap Construction: Durable and lightweight “cap” skis are built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski. Used throughout our ski line, cap constructions can be assembled with a variety of different cores. These variations, such as glass and/or metal materials, are the determining factors of the skis’ performance. Torsion Box Technology: Torsion Box construction is the foundation for the widest range of skis designed by K2. The versatility in the construction enables K2 to build everything from entry-level through expert skis. Ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy that can be found in all Torsion Box skis Noodle Ski System: The noodle ski system is a totally unique technology for the Groms series. The disadvantage in most junior skis is the stiffness of the overall ski due to the minimum thickness required to retain bindings screws. With the Noodle Tech binding system, the plate is actually fused to the ski, requiring no screws, so the thinner core proves a smooth-flexing ski. That means better comfort and control for a junior skier and, ultimately, more fun. New for the 2012/13 season the K2 Luv Bug has the looks and walks the walk for all young girls out there. Very easy to progress on, this improves their skiing ability extremely quickly and with good flex and the catch free rocker incorporated it allows them to gain confidence in no time. Just be warned if you get these skis for them you had better be wary of them outdoing you on your next holiday! Is It For M
