These run through the bottom plate so that they touch the processor directly. Thus, the contact surface consists of both aluminium & copper. The heat is transferred very quickly into the heatpipes & from there into the aluminium fins of the radiator. The supplied 120 mm fan with white LEDs ensures a quick removal of heat. Zalman equips it with a rifle bearing for a smoother ride & longer life. The shark fin blades reduce vibration & increase airflow. Zalman FX100 Ultimate Fanless CPU Cooler Zalmans innovative new FX100 CPU cooler is designed to utilise natural convection where the heatsink passively transfers the heat to its surroundings. The hot air is then exhausted out of the chassis with the help of chassis fans or via natural convection through the top of a suitable case. Due to its passive & efficient operation, several factors that contribute to a shorter life span in electronics (such as vibration, dust, & heat) have a minimal impact, which makes the FX100 one of the most durable CPU cooler available on the market today.
