Designed for video signage applications the Techconnect Matrix allows distribution of HDMI content over an existing managed LAN infrastructure. Because of this the cost of deployment is radically lower than bespoke AV distribution systems. Features Matrix modes It supports point-to-point, point-to-multiple, and multiple-to-multiple matrixing. MJPEG compression It converts the video into TCP/IP packets using proprietary MPEG compression. The audio & vision are compressed together ensuring no delay issues at the receiver which may lead to out-of-sync audio on a busy network. RS-232 Not only can it distribute video & audio;it can also RS-232 transmit 2-way control signal to the display devices. Cascading network switches The signal can be transmitted to any point on the LAN through any number of network switches. Or two devices can bypass the LAN & connect directly to each other. Backboxes are carefully designed with convenient easy-push-out sections for trunking & are made from flexible non-marking plastic so are not brittle like common backboxes. Quick & Easy Simple enough that even an inexperienced technician can install it. No soldering is necessary due to its captive screw connector design. The modules are interchangeable, so if in the future you require a different connector to be installed, you can simply buy just the module you want & swap it out. Plug-&-Play Connectivity Unlike cheap VGA cable, Vision’s quality cable has SDA & SCL data lines to support DDC2B (Display Data Channel) which allows the display device to communicate its supported display modes. Without these the user will not experience play-&-play connectivity & will have to manually setup resolution & color bit depth. Installation-Grade Cable When choosing cable don’t be fooled by a thick cable jacket. Does it have adequate copper? Is it shielded evenly to prevent ghosting? A major cost component of cables is copper, so cheap cables have less copper. Compromising can result in cable which doesn’t support high resolutions, & results in flagging or image jitter. The cross-sectional area of Techconnect cable conductors allows sufficient current-carrying capacity to support high resolution signal, & the shielding is evenly wound.
