The D-Link Share Center Shadow (DNS-325) is a 2-bay Network Attached Storage (NAS) device with backup & media features that make it ideal for storing, sharing & protecting valuable digital content. The Share Center Shadow enables users to share documents & media content such as photos, music & videos on a network or over the Internet. File access is easy & straightforward with the built-in web file server, which allows users to browse & download stored files over the Internet. The more technical user can manage the contents of their Share Center Shadow from any FTP client. The DLNA-certified Media Server will stream the media content in your Share Center Shadow to any compatible media player

The Share Center Shadow allows for multiple simultaneous streams, so you can watch a movie in your entertainment center while someone else listens to music streamed onto their computer. The Share Center Shadow can be taylored to you needs with powerful add-ons that enhance functionality & allow you to do more. Squeeze Center & Audio Streamer allow you to stream music on your home network. With Aja Xplorer you can share files over the Internet on any web browser. Photo Center will create professional photo galleries & slideshows, & with the Blog add-on, you can create your own blog & always keep it updated. The Share Center Shadow is compatible with Apples Time Machine. Users of Apple computers can use this powerful feature to backup their valuable files & computer settings directly onto the Share Center Shadow, or perform a full system recovery in case a computer fails. The Share Center Shadow comes with a Gigabit port for the fastest connectivity on your network through your router. RAID 1 technology ensures that you never lose your valuable data by mirroring the contents of one hard drive onto the other, so if one drive fails, your data is still safe. Confidentiality & integrity of files is enforced by giving rights to specific users or groups & assigning them to folders with read/write permissions. This function is ideal for the home, where childrens access can be restricted to only age-appropriate materials, & ensuring that nobody can delete important files by accident. In a business environment this feature ensures that confidential information can only be accessed by authorized employees. The Share Center Shadow is part of D-Link Green, D-Links program for providing eco-friendly alternatives without compromising on performance: if the hard drives are not used in a configurable period of time, or data is not being transmitted, the Share Center Shadow will go into st&-by mode to save power.
