The D-Link DHP-501AV Power Line AV 500 Starter Kit turns every power socket into a possible wired network connection, by extending your existing network using the electrical wiring in your home. The kit contains all you need to get you up & running with Power Line technology. The two adapters in the DHP-501AV kit plug directly into a power outlet, & do not require any additional cables, so you can extend your home network by connecting multiple devices in the farthest corners of your home. For convenient setup, an encryption key can be quickly configured at the push of a button on the device, to protect the network from unauthorized wire tapping. With hassle-free plug & play installation, the DHP-501AV is an ideal solution to create a wall-to-wall home network. The Power Line AV 500 Starter Kit is capable of delivering wired data transfer rates of up to 500 Mbps. Advanced technology built into these adapters makes them more resistant to electrical interference from other household appliances, so users can fully benefit from maximum transmission speeds. This makes them ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications, guaranteeing smooth HD video streaming, Vo IP calls, & lag-free online gaming experiences. In addition, the Quality of Service (Qo S) Engine prioritizes Internet traffic, ensuring that multimedia applications do not experience glitches while web surfing & downloads are in progress. This kit provides ample network bandwidth, enabling Digital Home consumers to tap into existing electrical wiring for high-quality multimedia streaming. Based on the industry-leading Power Line Alliance technology, the adapters in the DHP-501AV kit are compatible with other brands devices based on the IEEE 1901 standard. It is also compatible with devices implementing the former Power Line AV standard, such as D-Links DHP-306AV/-307AV, DHP-P306AV/-P307AV, & DHP-W306AV/-W307AV. The Power Line AV 500 Starter Kit is part of D-Link Green, D-Links program for providing eco-friendly alternatives without compromising performance: if data transmission does not occur over a certain period of time, the adapters will automatically go into sleep mode to save power. Please note: networking components such as Powerline adapters require that all adapters must work within the same Home Plug standard to remain compatible, for example Home Plug AV (HPAV) adapters with communicate with other HPAV Powerline components, regardless of whether they are 200 Mbps or 500 Mbps. Older 85 Mbps adapters work on the different Home Plug 1.0 standard & are not compatible with Home Plug AV adapters. All Powerline products will connect to any switch or router Ethernet port. Powerline adapters can be used with extension leads (except surge protection ones), & will work across different ring mains so long as they share a common fuse box.
