Protein Recovery is a carbohydrate & whey protein drink mix, designed to maximize recovery after hard exercise. It contains the highest quality whey protein isolate & rapidly absorbed carbohydrate. These help rebuild & re-energise tired muscles & fuel the bodys recovery process. Protein Recovery contains approx. 25% protein which is slightly higher than Energy Source 4:1 at (19%). What is the difference between Protein Recovery & Energy Source 4:1? If an athlete wants a single drink for use during exercise & for recovery after, then 4:1 does everything exceptionally well. However, Protein Recovery does offer some additional advantages. Protein Recovery can be mixed with milk or water. In fact it tastes great, like a high quality milkshake. Straight after exercise we recommend mixing Protein Recovery with water, as this will give the quickest delivery of amino acids to support protein synthesis which starts approx. one hour after exercise finishes. Later in the day, we suggest mixing Protein Recovery with milk, as this slows the absorption & provides a longer lasting supply of amino acids. You can mix with milk before bedtime to enhance recovery while you sleep. If you are training hard for many hours a day, sports drinks can be acidic. Protein Recovery mixed with cold milk is neutral & can make a very pleasant change. The whey protein isolate used in Protein Recovery is high in Leucine an amino acid which triggers protein synthesis. It also has an exceptionally high PDCAAS score of 1.14, which is a measure of protein quality.
