Whether you have always fancied yourself as the next Errol Flynn, Zorro or even Luke Skywalker, this introduction to fencing will help give you a real insight into the Olympic sport of fencing. By being one on one with a top international instructor youll learn all of the basics that are required for fencing & have an opportunity to put your skills to the test by going up against your instructor. How long will you last? Your experience will start with a full safety briefing where the top international coaches will introduce you to the basics, for example, a quick workout to learn the essential footwork. Youll then be shown the equipment including foil & mask before going through the different techniques in order to beat your opponent. During the session youll learn all the basics & terminology that goes with them, such as the lunge, parry, riposte & feint. Then its time to put all you have learned into practice by challenging your instructor to a duel. The session will end with an introduction to the three different types of sword used in fencing
- the Foil, Epee & Sabre. The minimum age for this experience 14 years old, under 18s will need accompanying by an adult. You will need a moderate level of fitness for this experience. There are no qualifications required for this experience. Bedfordshire
