Walt Disney took a big chance with this ambitious anthology of animated fantasies. First, he set them to lengthy classical music pieces, & then he boldly experimented with different forms of animation, sometimes jettisoning any sort of narrative altogether. The result is a sometimes mesmerizing, sometimes hilarious, sometimes frightening, but always beautiful moviegoing experience. A box-office failure when first released, its now considered a timeless treasure. Highlights include: Mickey Mouse in The Sorcerers Apprentice, the leaping hippos & alligators in Dance of the Hours, the rise & fall of the dinosaurs set to Stravinskys Rite of Spring, the dancing mushrooms of Tchaikovskys Nutcracker Suite, & Mussorgskys Night on Bald Mountain, with its fearsome winged demon raging at the heavens. One of Walt Disneys ambitions for the project was to rerelease the film periodically over the years with new sequences. Though the film was regularly rereleased, it wasnt until 1999 that his intention was finally realized with the premiere of FANTASIA 2000, a lavish follow-up that included a digitally restored Sorcerers Apprentice & a host of new material. This is your opportunity to compare the Porsche 911, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage & the Lamborghini Gallardo to the legendary Ferrari 360. The Porsche 911 is a 40 year old idea but one of the best handling cars on the road today. Lamborghinis Gallardo may be regarded as the baby but it punches well above its weight. The beautifully crafted Aston has plenty of power & performance to stir the soul. Finally, the Ferrari 360! Its 3.6 litre V8 engine will power the brave from 0 to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds, the prancing horse on the bonnet says it all. Programme On arrival you will be given a safety briefing & then the action will begin! You will be driven around the circuit by your instructor for familiarisation laps. Then its your turn to take to the wheel of not one, but four great supercars. This will be followed by a debrief. Duration You will have Approx. 2 hours in total with roughly 20 minutes driving time. Group There will be a maximum of 20 other people in your group, with up to five people to each car. Spectators You are welcome to bring spectators to come & watch. Children under 11 will need accompanying by an adult at all times. Fitness The maximum height for this activity is 1.98m (6ft 6in), the minimum is 1.52m (5ft). The maximum weight 102kg (16 stone). Experience You will require a full valid European or UK manual driving licence, which must have been held for a minimum of 1 year & must be produced on the day. Minimum Age The minimum age for this experience is 18 years. Availability This activity is available on selected weekday dates, March to December.
