Managed Wireless Switch Access Point with Po E The D-Link Air Premier DWL-3500AP is a thin wireless Access Point designed for use in conjunction with DWS-3024 Wireless Switch in business-class enterprise environments. Designed for indoor installation, this access point provides secure options for network administrators to deploy a highly manageable & extremely robust wireless network. This access point supports Power over Ethernet (Po E) & provides two high-gain antennae for optimal wireless coverage. Centralized Wireless Intelligence The Access Point is entirely controlled from the Wireless Switch, ie no configuration data is kept at AP level, adding a layer of protection in case of theft or vandalism. Profiles including SSID, IP address, VLAN, security, etc… are only configured once & then applied to the managed APs. If an AP needs swapping, the replacement AP automatically inherits the same configuration, making the process seamless. Po E support for Easy Deployment For installations in areas where power outlets are not readily available, the access point integrates 802.3af Power over Ethernet (Po E). The Wireless Switch will provide power as far as 100m away via standard Ethernet cabling. Up to 108 Mbps Wireless Speed The DWL-3500AP delivers extremely reliable wireless performance with standard 802.11g wireless throughput rates of up to 54 Mbps. It has the added capability of reaching maximum wireless signal rates of up to 108 Mbps (Turbo mode) powered by D-Link 108G technology*. At the same time, the DWL-3500AP remains fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11b & 802.11g standards. Advanced Wireless Security & Quality of Service The DWL-3500AP supports 64/128/152-bit WEP data encryption, WPA/WPA2 security & multiple SSIDs. MAC Address Filtering, SSID Broadcast Disable can be configured from the switch to set up security & limit outsiders’ access to the internal network. The DWL-3500AP supports 802.1Q VLAN Tagging & WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) for important wireless transmissions such as Vo IP & streaming media applications, delivering critical user-based services, such as prioritized delivery of voice traffic. Rogue AP detection The DWL-3500AP can be configured to periodically leave its operational channel & scan other channels within the frequency range, allowing the wireless switch to monitor the environment & detect rogue APs. If a rogue is detected, the closest DWL-3500AP can launch RF counter measures by spoofing 802.11 control messages. This prevents clients from communicating, associating & authenticating with a rogue * Maximum wireless signal rate based on IEEE standard 802.11g specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions & environmental factors lower actual data throughput rate. Please note: networking components such as switches, routers, UPS & wireless devices require that speeds & standards be consistent throughout the network to gain optimum performance. Simplified deployment & management Using the setup wizard, the DWC-2000 can be configured for any network in minutes. Centralized management of remote access points via a simple interface provides the ability to automatically discover compatible D-Link wireless access points, add them into the managed access point list, and set one-time configuration dispatch settings for them. The network administrator can use the controller clustering feature to easily log into one wireless controller & push essential configurations to others within the group. The dashboard displays real-time monitoring of access points & associated client stations to manage network resources efficiently. Furthermore, the graphical widgets on the dashboard can be customized to provide various clients & network statistics at a glance. Combined with system alarms & statistical reports on managed access points, the DWC-2000 is the one stop platform that allows administrators to effectively optimize & manage their network environment. Guest control & management The DWC-2000 integrates guest management features that deliver a secure & easy solution for managing access to the Internet by temporary users in a private or public network. Each temporary account, or the issued ticket, is accompanied by time-limited or volume-limited Internet access privileges. The guest management service allows batch generation of temporary accounts, and also provides account details to the guest via printout. Furthermore, it can monitor or extend the usage on the specific account manually after account creation & activation. By connecting with payment gateways to authorized credit card or electronic payments, guests can easily purchase the service online. Robust & optimized network The DWC-2000 offers self-organizing, self-optimizing, and self-healing network capabilities to increase the stability of the entire wireless network. Maximum 4+4 wireless controller redundancy & AP provisioning automatically switches the AP management from the failed controller to the backup in emergency scenarios, giving your network the reliability it needs. Featuring regular radio scanning & performance analysis, the DWC-2000 automatically tunes radio channels & power from time to time to avoid interference & keep the wireless network optimized. To make up for a sudden RF signal vacuum created by a "dead" access point, the DWC-2000 increases the transmission output power of neighboring access points to expand RF coverage for a reliable, high performance network. Comprehensive security The DWC-2000 provides a comprehensive wireless security solution for easy integration into any network. The Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) featured in the DWC-2000 detects rogue access points, rogue clients, and can anticipate wireless threats, preventing potential breaches & illegal access before any damage is done to the network. In addition to fundamental wireless security, the Captive Portal feature means that you can block clients from accessing the network until their identities are verified. The captive portal authentication servers cover local, RADIUS, LDAP, POP3 & window active directory. This double-layer authentication & authorization establish a robust security fence to avoid attacks from internal networks. High scalability, availability, and flexibility To address today's fast-changing corporate structures, the DWC-2000 wireless controller offers flexible optional
Features:the administrator can purchase D-Link's business wireless plus license packs to upgrade the DWC-2000's capabilities.
