The DGS-3120 x Stack Series switches are enhanced L2 access stackable switches designed to connect end-users in a secure SMB or enterprise network. These switches support physical stacking, multicast, & enhanced security, making them an ideal Gigabit access layer solution. The DGS-3120-24TC/48TC provides 20 or 44 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports, & 4 combo 1000BASE-T/SFP Gigabit Ethernet ports. The DGS-3120-24PC/48PC provides 24 or 48 10/100/1000 Mbps Po E Gigabit Ethernet ports & 4 combo 1000BASE-T/SFP Gigabit Ethernet ports. The DGS-3120-24SC provides 16 SFP Gigabit Ethernet ports & 8 combo 1000BASE-T/SFP Gigabit ports. Each 10/100/1000 Mbps port on the DGS-3120-24PC/48PC supports the 802.3af & 802.3at Power over Ethernet standards. The default power budget for these models is 370 watts & can be expanded to 760 watts with the DPS-700 RPS. The switches are also equipped with an SD Card slot, allowing the user to boot images & upload configuration files directly from an SD Card as well as conveniently save syslog files onto the SD Card. Standard & Enhanced Images The DGS-3120 Series is embedded with two different software images
- the Standard Image (SI) & Enhanced Image (EI). The Standard Image provides sophisticated features for campus or enterprise usage. It

Includes::
advanced Quality of Service (Qo S), traffic shaping, L2 multicasting, robust security features, & IPv 6 features which are suitable for next-generation IPv 6 networks or triple play applications over Metro Ethernet*. The Enhanced Image supports ERPS, Double VLAN (Q-in-Q), Ethernet OAM, Static Route, IMPB, & s Flow. Enhanced Network Reliability The DGS-3120 Series targets enterprises, campuses, & customers who require a high level of network security & maximum uptime. G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) minimizes the recovery time to 50ms. For load sharing & redundancy backup in a switch cascading/server attachment configuration, the DGS-3120 Series provides dynamic 802.3ad Link Aggregation Port Trunking. Comprehensive Security The DGS-3120 Series provides users with the latest security features such as Multi-layer & Packet Content Access Control Lists (ACL), Storm Control, & IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) with DHCP Snooping. The IP-MAC-Port Binding feature allows administrators to bind a source IP address with an associated MAC & also define the port number to enhance user access control. With the DHCP Snooping feature, the switch automatically learns IP/MAC pairs by snooping DHCP packets & saving them to the IMPB white list. In addition, the D-Link Safeguard Engine identifies & prioritizes “CPU interested” packets to prevent malicious traffic from interrupting normal network flows, & to protect switch operation. Identity Driven Network Policies The DGS-3120 Series supports authentication mechanisms such as 802.1X, Web-based Access Control (WAC), & MAC-based Access Control (MAC) for strict access control & easy deployment. After authentication, individual policies such as VLAN membership, Qo S policies, & ACL rules can be assigned to each host. In addition, the switch also supports Microsoft® NAP (Network Access Protection). NAP is a policy enforcement technology that allows customers to protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies. Traffic Management for Triple Play The DGS-3120 Series implements a rich set of multilayer Qo S/ Co S features to ensure that critical network services such as Vo IP, video conferencing, IPTV, & IP surveillance are given high priority. Traffic Shaping features guarantee bandwidth for these services when the network is busy. L2 Multicast support enables the DGS-3120 to handle growing IPTV bandwidth requirements. Host-based IGMP/MLD Snooping allows multiple multicast subscribers per physical interface & ISM VLAN sends multicast streams in a multicast VLAN to save bandwidth & to provide better security to the backbone network. The ISM VLAN profiles allow users to bind/replace the pre-defined multicast registration information to subscriber ports quickly & easily. Proactive, Effective Network Management To uphold enterprise customers’ Service Level Agreements (SLA), service providers must reduce their Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) & increase service availability. Ethernet OAM features address these challenges & enable service providers to offer carrier-grade services. The DGS-3120 Series supports industry-standard OAM tools, including IEEE 802.3ah, IEEE802.1ag, & ITU-T Y.1731. IPv 6 & IPv 4 Routing The D-Link DCS-3620 Switch provides current IPv 4 networks with a simple migration path to IPv 6 & protects your investment for future network upgrades when greater security & larger addressing are required. Basic static routing such as RIP & RIPv 2 are supported for small network routing applications. Advanced routing protocols such as OSPF & equal cost routing are supported for load balancing & building a scalable network. Stackable Up to 12 Units Each switch in the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch has four optional SFP+ Ports to install compatible modules for stacking provide up to 40 Gbps data stacking backplane while in full-duplex mode. This enhances your overall network performance for switches transmitting large files such as graphics or pictures. Under stacking mode, the switches are hot-swappable. This means that in a stack configuration, any of the switches can be replaced or removed without affecting the network. There is no need to reconfigure a replacement switch; just give the new switch the same stack number ID as the old switch & the network will carry the same confi guration as before. This minimises network downtime & maximises the productivity of your business. Also, to facilitate network administration, cross stack port mirroring & port trunking are supported. The D-Link Safeguard Engine & Security The D-Link DCS-3620 Switch incorporates advanced mechanisms to detect an attack against the central processing unit of the switch & to take corrective action on the attacking interface. When a Do S attack is waged against any of the D-Link DCS-3620 Switches, the D-Link Safeguard Engine detects the threat & prevents overload of the CPU, thus ensuring network integrity & helping to maintain open network bandwidth channels. In addition, the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch offers a variety of authentication methods, including those without the requirement of a RADIUS server. It supports MAC-based Access Control, which authenticates the user based on the MAC address of the client so that authentication is transparent to the client. It also supports Web-based Access Control, which prompts for username & password before allowing access to TCP traffic. Lastly, the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch supports Network Access Protection (NAP). This feature works in conjunction with Microsoft software platforms such as Windows Vista to reinforce network health & security policies including policy validation, network restriction, remediation, & ongoing compliance. Voice & Video Applications For todays businesses, having voice, data, & video on the same network is common practice. This challenge is met by the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch, which supports 802.1p with eight queues. The administrator can designate traffic priority based on a variety of means including IP & MAC address, so that voice data is clear & jitter-free. Video traffic can also be assigned with the same priority. In addition, the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch provides IGMP Snooping, which allows the forwarding of multicast packets such as streaming audio & video without increasing network broadcast congestion. By snooping IGMP registration information within a frame, a list of workstations that have joined the multicast group is created. This list then allows the switch to intelligently forward packets to only the appropriate member workstations. For IPv 6 traffic, the D-Link DCS-3620 Switch supports MLD snooping. Multicast routing is supported under independent multicast protocol, including PIM-SM, PIM-DM, & PIM-SDM (Sparse Dense Mode). DVMRP is also supported to interconnect two multicast-enabled networks across non-multicast networks. In conjunction with support for 802.1Q VLANs, Quality of Service (Qo S) & security can be achieved on a network infused with data traffic. Standard & Enhanced Images The D-Link DCS-3620 Switch is embedded with two different software images, the Standard Image (SI) & the Enhanced Image (EI). The Standard Image provides fundamental features for usinesses such as switching, routing, multicasting, advanced Quality of Service (Qo S), & robust security features. The Enhanced Image supports OAM, BGP, IPv 6 dynamic routing, & tunneling which are all suitable for the service provider network Ease of Management The D-Link DCS-3620 Switch supports SNMP v 1/2c/3 so traps can be set on abnormal events & information can be polled to maximise network productivity. Other standard management features also supported include RMON & IEEE 802.1D Spanning Tree. User interfaces include an intuitive Web-based GUI or standard CLI, either of which can be protected through SSL or SSH encryption. ...
