Discover the journey from vine to bottle with this tour & tasting at the Polgoon Vineyard. After learning about the grape types & fermentation that produce their award winning wines, taste these for yourselves & even take a bottle home. Polgoon Vineyard, situated on south facing slopes over looking Penzance & St Michaels Mount in Cornwall, provides the perfect location for growing grapevines & apple trees. Run by the Coulson family, who originally worked in the local fishing industry, they are dedicated to producing some of the finest Cornish wines, ciders & fruit juices. Your day will begin with a guided tour through the orchard & vines with one of the wine makers. You will then return to the winery & learn about production operations in the winery, this covers the various processes from pressing the fruit, for their Cornish cider & Cornish wine, the fermentation & how the Method Traditionnelle is used to make their English sparkling wine in Cornwall! As part of your experience you will also taste five different wines in the onsite shop & receive a bottle of their award winning still wine to take home as a souvenir of your visit.
