Traditionally Ethernet networks use 8 conductor cable (or 4 twisted pair) of which four are left spare and not used. These adaptors make use of the spare conductors. In effect the fully wired economisers, to be used in pairs at each end of a cable run, allow Cat.5E data and voice signals to be divided. By plugging one economiser direct into a wall outlet and another into a patch panel at the other end; one cable run of 4 twisted pair can be used to transmit either 2 sets of data, voice or single data and voice signals. Features: Must be used in pairs - frequently one plugged into an office faceplate, the other to patch panel in a cabinet Economises on use of solid core premise wiring by splitting signal into two sets of 2 twisted pair - saves the installation of additional cable runs
