The D-Link DNS-726-4 Professional Network Video Recorder (NVR) offers a comprehensive solution for displaying, storing & managing video data generated by IP cameras. With remote monitoring in high resolution at a fraction of the cost, this improves dramatically on conventional CCTV surveillance systems. The device itself is compact in size & incorporates a physical security lock. An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) can be used as an emergency power supply for the NVR, via a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface. An intuitive interface accessible via a simple web browser allows for real-time viewing of up to 4 cameras (models from D-Link, Sony, Panasonic & Axis are supported), either on-site or remotely via the Internet. A variety of options are provided, including pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) control & two-way audio. Each camera can be independently set to record continuously or at preset intervals, or on detecting motion. A dedicated PC is not required. Data is saved on one or two hard drives (3.5" SATA, not included), in a secure database that can be duplicated using RAID 1 technology for complete backup. The video data can be exported easily into AVI or ASF formats. The NVR centrally controls the digital output, e-mail notifications & recording for all the connected cameras. With " Smart Search" technology, a specific area of the image can be selected & searched for events such as motion, with various degrees of sensitivity.D-Link's powerful D-View Cam NVR software is bundled with the D-Link DNS-726-4. Via a simple web interface, an operator can easily drag & drop a view onto the display window, search or export video, & also back up video data from the NVR to external storage. A total of 4 NVRs & 16 cameras can be combined & administered in this way.
