Product Description

Bruichladdich Black Art 3 was distilled in 1989 giving it an age statement of 22 year old. This is the third edition in Bruichladdich Black Art Series & entirely distilled by Jim Mc Ewan. It has been aged in ex bourbon American oak casks & casks that previously held wine. The design on the bottle is brilliantly appealing, which is very common among Bruichladdich products, it has been designed to replicated its name & does it superbly. On the nose Bruichladdich is full of aromas, with the first being vanilla pods & chocolate raisins. Then the wine flavour begins to come through following the chocolate raisins bringing hints of nuts along with it. If you wish to add a drop of water, then the story of the flavours becomes completely different. You can detect plump, ripe blueberries with little hints of cinnamon & aniseed joins in harmoniously. You can then detect a strong flavour of oak & finally vanilla notes come rushing through after waiting their turn to impart their character. On the palate the power of the oak gives structure to the spirit, ensuring that the whole character can be experienced. The finish is long & lasting with the flavours complementing each other rather than doing battle, making it beautifully smooth on the throat rather than the normal burn that you get from a lot of Whiskies.
